Locked Calico Cat #Cat_RigControl

Hello Group,

I found this info in a discussion some years back:

"You can use some sort of CAT emulator. The only one I know about is one for SDRSharp. If you use Windows, SDRSharp has a plugin ("Calico CAT") that emulates a Kenwood transceiver. You can use some virtual com port software (like com0com) and a serial port monitor (like FreeSerialAnalyzer, or com0com's own logging functionality as described in the Readme file). Once you have this monitoring going on, you can use WSJTX and see the traffic. The Kenwood protocol is very easy."

I have been trying to find the plugin for download but with no success. Does anyone know, if it is still available or any other options between SDR# and WSTJ-X ?? I am currently using Gqrx (Linux) with RTL-SDR controlled by WSJT-X via Hamlib Netctl and looking for something equivalent for Win10.

win 10, running SDR# and an Airspy HF.

It has a Calico cat.

Have you installed SDR#?

I believe it is available as an add on, sounds like you are trying to
download it directly?

there is a io.groups for airspy you might try

Airspy doesn't have a built-in emulator or some other API for CAT control?

Mike -

On Linux I use GQRX to Airspy, it uses HAMLIB NET rgctl .

on win with SDR#, needs CALICO CAT, no provision for rgctl I could find.

so the the answer to your question is yes, but for whatever reason not in
SDR#.

Tonight's build of hamlib to be dated 2023-01-28 will have a new SDR# entry.
Rig #  Mfg                    Model                   Version         Status      Macro
     9  Airspy                 SDR#/gpredict           20230127.0      Stable      RIG_MODEL_SDRSHARP

https://n0nb.users.sourceforge.net/

It uses the gpredict module in SDR# as I couldn't seem to get or find the Calico CAT module.

So all it can do right now get/set frequency but is really all you need.

Next thing is to  create a rigctlsync program that will connect to rigctld or FLRig and also to SDR# and then keep SDR# in sync with the rig set up in rigctld/FLRig

I may have that in tonight's build or probably tomorrow at the latest.

Tonight's build of Hamlib that will be dated 2023-01-28 has a new utility rigctlsync.
https://n0nb.users.sourceforge.net/

It will allow you to synchronize frequency from a rig to SDR#.

This works best with rigctld, FLRig, or a rig with multiple COM ports but can also be hooked up to a rig directly if it is not being controlled by some other software.

To sync your rig being controlled by rigctld do this (things are case sensitive):

rigctlsync -m 2 -M 9 -R 192.168.1.1:4532

SDRSharp will then follow the rigctld frequency.

For FLRig
rigctlsync -m 4 -M 9 -R 192.168.1.1:4532

Direct to a rig (e.g. TS-2000)
rigctlsync -m 2048 -s 115200 -r COM1 -M 9 -R 192.168.1.1:4532

Hi Group and tnx for responding !

Based on the info from Airspy group I was able to download the SDRSharp.Calico.dll and now everything seems to work OK between SDR# and WSJT-X under Win10.
The link below includes most plugins available for SDR#, I guess.

Does anybody know where the source code is Calico?

What version of SDRSharp are you running?

I put the Calico DLL in version 1.0.0.1909 and when I select a COM port I get a segmentation fault in SDRSharp.
