Locked Which file WSJTX read to color the CQ? #adiFiles
I've cleaned wsjtx_log.adi, and I checked that a call (UA6ATG) is not present, but his CQ line is green.
In my color setup new call is checked (both first in band and first one whith light blue). I expect the new call CQ is blue, but it isn't and is not the first callsign I suspect I lost... PS: I had re-scanned the adi file in setup color tab... Pietro |

Hi Pietro,
I've cleaned wsjtx_log.adi, and I checked that a call (UA6ATG) is not present, but his CQ line is green. How did you do this cleanup job? What editor did you use? Are yuo sure that you saved the cleaned-up file back as "wsjtx_log.adi" and not something like "wsjtx_log.adi.TXT" ( assuming you are using Window$ie ) ? 73's de Kari, oh2gqc |

Yes Kari, I'm sure. v2.5.4
I opened the wsjtx_log.adi file with notepad++ and tried to find the callsign: nothing found. Now I find the qso I had this afternoon with him. And his CQ is green, as expected. But: I renamed wsjtx_log.adi in .back, and WSJTX does not create a new one (maybe it would be done after a qso). But I rescanned the adi file and the color is still green. I suspect that the colors are not depending on wsjtx_log, but on some other log, is it possible? The colour codes are not in the adif file, they are in the configuration file. The only thing the adif file does is tell the program which callsigns you have worked on which bands and modes.

To be absolutely sure that changes you make are recognized by the program, you should not edit, delete or change the adif file while the wsjt-x program is running. Close wsjt-x, make whatever changes you want to the file, save the file, then open wsjt-x. The colours are configured in the Settings window under the Colours tab. Note that which colour is used depends not only on which items in this list are checked, but also on the order in which they appear in the list. If the "CQ in message" (green) line is above the "New call" (cyan) line in the list in the Settings window, then the CQ colour (green) will be displayed on CQ messages from new calls. 73, Rich VE3KI On Tue, Sep 27, 2022 at 12:34 PM, Pietro Molina wrote:

Hi Pietro,
Yes Kari, I'm sure. v2.5.4Correct, WSJT-X will create a new logfile when next QSO is logged. But I rescanned the adi file and theNo, only wsjtx_log.adi is scanned by WSJT-X for previous QSOs. Are you perhaps using some 'companion program' in addition to WSJT-X? 'Kari |

No, Kary, I didn't.

I'm sure that the callsign was not in the adi file and btw was the absolutely first Qso with him. Tomorrow I'll perform some test with a dummy installation to investigate... I assume that the first row on the color table that match with the callsign is the one that decide the actual color, starting at the top and descending. True? Always? Thanks for help. No, Kary, I didn't.Hmm, that sounds weird. Is this callsing the only one you are having this issue with? I assume that the first row on the color table that match with the callsignYes, that's true. And AFAIK that's what always happens. What are your colour settings? Here are mine from top to bottom: 1) My Call in message 2) New Continent 3) New Continent on Band ( I don't care about Zones ) 4) New DXCC 5) New DXCC on Band ( I don't care about Grids either ) 6) New Call 7) New Call on Band 8) CQ in message <<<< This is green, meaning B4 9) Transmitted message I also have "Highligt by Mode" checked in Settings => Colors. With these settings everything works just fine for me. 'Kari |
