Locked Changing your grid square #bearing
Phil W6PS
Hi all. I’m new to the group and fairly new to WSJTX . I have a question about changing my grid square temporarily in WSJTX. I will be going on vacation to New York State and I am going to setup a portable station there. I want to make sure that when I operate, that my proper grid square is displayed for the location that I’m transmitting from. And I’m pretty sure I’ll have to change it in my logging program and websites.
Is it just a matter of changing the settings in the station details? Thanks, Phil W6PS |

Most probably you need to change in Settings | General the My Grid value on the wsjt-x point of view. If your logging program talks with wsjt-x, then that should be enough on its point of view as wsjt-x will send the current locator information with each logging exchange. Websites such as QRZ.com need to changed manually. The Station Information in the Frequencies tab is not used for logging purposes, but for PSKreporter. Have a nice vacation! 73, Reino OH3mA I have a question about changing my grid square temporarily in WSJTX. And if you use *LoTW*, don't forget to set up a new *Location *there as well. Larry / W1DYJ On 8/8/2022 4:37, Reino Talarmo wrote:

From TQSL release notes Apr 6, 2020:
"Optionally, a station performing roaming operations (multiple gridsquares) can choose to have TQSL assume that the log is correct. When callsign or QTH are provided with the log, TQSL will update the details on the upload to Logbook automatically. This behavior is enabled by selecting “Override Station Location with QTH details from your log” on the “Log Handling” preference page." 73 -Jim NU0C On Mon, 8 Aug 2022 08:09:07 -0400 "Larry Banks via groups.io" <larryb.w1dyj@...> wrote: Hi Phil, |
