Locked Tx/Rx not syncing when double-clicking on station #IssueReport

Bedrock305

I am using the latest version (2.5.4) on a Windows 10 PC with a Yaesu FT-891 and a Rigblaster Advantage interface. When I double click on a station I want to work, the "receive" field matches the other station, but the "transmit" field remains where it was from the previous QSO. I have to manually stop transmitting, type in the Tx number, then re-enable the transmitter. Am I missing something here or is this a known bug?

Check the behavior settings in the settings. The checkbox "double-click on call sets TX enable" should be checked.Make sure that on the main screen "auto seq" is checked

You SHOULD stay where you were for transmit. This assumes you have Hpld TX Frequency checked and have set it to a frequency where it appears to be clear.

You DON'T WANT to transmit on his frequency. This has been explained MANY MANY times on this forum, including within the last day or two, as I read it again last night right here.

Hi Sam and Chris,

I am experiencing the same with WSJT-X version 2.5.4 -- with the correct setup as given by Sam. This has worked fine with all other previous versions of WSJT-X, used with Windows-10 in my PC.

Yesterday was the Nordic Activity Contest on 4 m (70 MHz), and I decided to go back in time, by installing the WSJT-X version 2.4.0.

And with exactly the same setup, everything worked fine, like it should: Double clicking the other station's call sign in the receive window entered all the necessary data for transmitting, and "automagically" started the radio transmission like it should.

Strange that this didn't work on the newer version 2.5.4. On that version I managed to start this procedure now and then, by clicking 3 times on the other station's call sign, but that didn't work many times. It was not at all useful and dependable in a contest.

Wrong! ALWAYS keep this box checked so that you don't transmit on the frequency of the station you are calling. It is VERY bad manners to do that. Veteran FT8 user AG0N emphasized this today!

Please try the latest hamlib....that problem may have been fixed. If not we'll need to debug it.
New hamlib for Windows installation directions
#1 Shut down WSJTX/JTDX
#2 Download either the 32-bit or 64-bit DLL matching the 32/64-bit version of WSJTX/JTDX -- hopefully your browser doesn't block it but may warn you multiple times.
If you can do a "Save As" you can save it directly in \WSJT\WSJTX\bin and replace the libhamlib-4.dll that is there.
http://n0nb.users.sourceforge.net/dll32/libhamlib-4.dll
http://n0nb.users.sourceforge.net/dll64/libhamlib-4.dll
#3 If you don't save directly you need to open a file browser and move the file that way.
If you're not familiar with that here's a video on the file browser - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyVqCJrs9dk

5 kc away from *what* exactly? What WSJTX should be doing is moving the VFO frequency and simultaneously changing the tone freq from WSJTX to keep your TX signal in exactly the same place, but centering it in your rigs passband. (Which is a good thing!) The difference between "split" and "fake it" is that "split" uses the second VFO (if your rig has one) vs "fake it" changing TX frequency every time you transmit. In either case it is a *GOOD* thing!

I just find a low use freq in the waterfall, and tag my TX freq to it to
never change it.

the station you want to work will decode you TX freq...

When I connect computer to 891 and select Fake it the freq changes 500 hz
down band when transmitting. When it goes back to receive it says 600 hz
down. The next cycle it moves another 600 hz and stays there. After 3
transmit cycles it's so far away from the original freq you can't even hear
the ft8 signals. I selected none and it works fine.

I made a change and use Ham radio deluxe as cat control for 891 and select
fake it and it no longer changes. Don't know what problem is but it's
fixed. Thanks for all the replies. 73

Hi Dennis. I had the same problem about a year ago. Turned out that I had VOX turned on my radio, so there were 2 methods of PTT happening. Try turning VOX off and see what happens.

Some rigs cannot change frequency while transmitting.VOX triggering off may not occur until after frequency change is requested.
