Locked odd behavior after update to WSJT-X 2.5.4 #Icom

IC-7300 ver 1.30. to Mac Mini OSX 12.3.1
Earlier today, I had some squirrelly behavior...I can't recall exactly but it had to do with not transmitting. I looked at the version i had...2.5.0? So, I updated to the current 2.5.4 version of WSJT-X per instructions for Mac and accessed the Terminal Bar, etc.and it worked fine...worked good DX on 15 and 17M in the afternoon. This evening, it worked well until I switched to 20M Then the (audio) Power bar on the right side started to work in reverse: mouse mvt opposite that of the level button...and the output increased towards the bottom of the scale... -45 dB at the top and 0 dB at the bottom. AND it does not decode...I checked the audio settings and they seem OK. I am not aware that I made any changes. This is a weird one... Thanks John AB8O |

I will add that the Mac audio input shows appropriate varying input level bars.

OK, check your time sync using https://time.is <https://time.is/> If it is more than 2.5 secs, WSJT-X won’t decode. Go to System preferences > Date & time and make sure set date and time automatically is checked. If that doesn’t fix it you may need time sync software. I use Crony Control: https://www.whatroute.net/chronycontrol.html

Time sync is OK. I may have been mistaken about decoding...this morning it worked FB.
The remaining oddity is that the Power slider is 'upside down'. This may explain no transmission earlier...the power slider was near the top (now at -45 dB) Transmission seems normal if I set the power slider nearly all the way to the bottom (-1.9 dB to avoid ALC) |

I don’t use the slider but other Mac users have reported the same here.

I set the power on the radio and the audio out level in the audio midi setup. I don’t change them after that. ALC doesn’t seem to be a problem on my FTDX10. I’ve never owned an Icom but I understand that ALC is more of an issue with them.

This is KNOWN issue...
