Locked ic 756 pro 3 and Signalin Usb settings. #Icom
I have a IC 756 pro 3 dusted off and trying to use a Signalink USB, Win 10, 8 pin cable to ACCY port 1 on the Icom. I can receive fine, all modes WSJT-x supports, but
I can not transmit. Help ! Does anyone have a setting list for the 756 other than USB-D and setting for WSJT-X ? By the way the set works with MSHV ver 2.63 perfectly. Want to run JT's program. 73 Bill K1WY |

The Signalink is VOX ptt. Do you see the red PTT light come on when you transmit? If it works with MSHV then it has to work with WSJTX too as long as you have the correct audio device selected, the playback level at 0dB, and have the Pwr slider up far enough.

I assume that is has been verified on tigertronics.com that you have the correct internal jumpers in place in the Signallink for that radio and cable?

Assuming you have followed all the "digital modes" instructions per your

ICOM-756Pro operating manual, and have the correct WSJT-X settings for the rig and have WSJT-X pointed at the Signalink CODEC for send and receive, it should work. Double-check to make certain you have the exact settings in WSJT-X as per those in the "digital modes" setup in your ICOM owners manual, and have selected " ICOM 756pro" in the WSJT-X setup. If it's working well with MSHV and you have matched the CTS/DTS and transfer rates that you used in that software, it should work with WSJT-X. I'd go back through all your rig settings & WSJT-X settings to see if you missed something. Also, on the Radio tab in setup, check to see which "Transmit Radio Source" you have selected & make sure it is correct. Then check the "Mode" selection. My TS-590 has a DATA mode. Make sure this selection matches that of your rig. If you're not sure, just pick one and try it. You won't hurt anything. If one method doesn't work, try another. And finally, a few questions: 1. Which PTT method are you using and does the COM port in the PTT setup box in WSJT match the COM port of the Signalink? 2. Have you tried other PTT methods to see if they work? I had this same problem when setting up my TS-590S & when I switched PTT methods, the problem was fixed. 3. What happens when you try the "Test transmit" & "Test CAT". Do they both work or only one? Hope this helps. 73, Ron - KJ5XX On Mon, Feb 28, 2022, 4:11 PM K1WY - Bill <k1wy@...> wrote:

First of all thanks for the replies to my question on the 756 and Signalink USB. I continued to think about how used the
Signalink unit with the 756. All my other Icom rigs, 09700,9200,7300 and 7610 use the downloaded ICOM USB support program And work as they should with or without the Signalink Unit. I know Icom does not has no download for USB drivers for the 756. Then I found this on the Signalink web……They want NONE in the radio type. And it works just fine. Thanks to all who spent the time to send ideas to help. Much appreciated. 73 Bill K1Wy - WSJT-X Click File, then click Settings. In the new window that opens, click the General tab and enter your call in the My Call text box. Click the Radio tab and select "None" in the Rig drop-down menu. Select "Vox" as the PTT Method. Note that your radio's VOX setting should be OFF. This setting simply allows the SignaLink USB to control PTT Click the Audio tab and select "USB Audio Codec" for both the Input and Output sound card. If using Windows Vista/7/8.x/10, then you'll need to select "Microphone - USB Audio Codec" for "Input" and "Speakers - USB Audio Codec" for "Output". Click the OK button to close the Settings window. Set the "PWR" slider on the WSJT-X main window (right-hand side of screen) to the second notch from the top (roughly -5.1db). Note that if you lower this slider too much the SignaLink USB will NOT switch into transmit! See details below. WSJT-X is a complex program so please take some time to read the WSJT-X users guide! If you want CAT control you need another cable since the SignaLink does not do CAT.
