Locked worked before status #macOS

John Wiener

Hi
I cascade thru several problems as I try to reload WSJT after some odd behavior with the latest MacOS update.
I got thru the memory change adjustments in Terminal and got the xmit working after changing mode in WSJT preferences to Data/packet from USB.
so now, it works but I have a new question.
I no longer see ANY worked before status on incoming calls.  The button for DXCC, worked before, etc is pressed in Preferences and colours ticks look correct.
Did I lose my log?

Hi John,

unless you deleted it, your log should still be there. The file locations are documented in the WSJT-X User Guide:

https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main-2.5.0.html#_file_locations

So what does the following command in a terminal window print?

ls -l ~/Library/Application\ Support/WSJT-X/wsjtx_log.adi

Also just after WSJT-X starts it will flash up a message in the status bar for a few seconds saying how many worked before records have been read from the log file.

so what does it mean?

John Wiener

message says 1704 worked before so I guess the log exists.  So, what am I missing?

I did note that MacLoggerDX came up when I was trying to find the log.  I now see this ... a screenshot.
I don't use MacLoggerDX. I tried it over a year ago and opted not to purchase.  Today I uninstalled it.
Is MacLogger blocking WSJT-X from the log?

I hope someone is still out there and I really appreciate the help.  This is how it usually is for me...many discrete steps to get back to 'normal' after losing WSJT-X.
I use the blue color for new call so I can still identify new stations and not dupe qsos from worked-befdore stations.

BUT, NONE of the color codes are working...no dxcc, no CQ zone, no worked-before status. These are all ticked in Decode Highlighting under Colours.
Country was showing up for a time for each station but that also disappeared.
again, thanks

Hi John,

have you checked the "Preferences->General->Show DXCC, grid, and worked before status" option as noted in the first bullet point here in the WSJT-X User Guide section on decode highlighting:

https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main-2.5.0.html#COLORS

John,
Some thoughts.
Select
File/Open Log directory  and check the size of the wsjtx_log.adi file. If it is quite small. (Your an open it with textedit to see what is in there) then you may need to export your usual log into an .adi file, copy it to the WSJX file folder, rename (or delete) the existing one and rename your 'master' copy as wsjtx.adi
THEN
Go to WSJT
Select WSJT-X/Preferences
Select the Colours
Select the button Rescan ADIF log.
Good Luck
Doug

Thanks Doug
I copied (or perhaps moved and renamed by mistake) the rumlog adi file to the same directory as the original wsjtx_log.adi
and renamed the old one.  The old one had all the qsos from this year only.  I thought the rumlog would be complete...now I see ZERO worked-before when I rescan ADIF log.  However in Band Activity, I still see blue highlighting on new calls.  How can that be?
Should I just start over?  did I lose my >10 years of logging?

John Wiener

I've read it several times.  it just isn't behaving as the manual says.

Did you rename the rumlog to
wsjtx_log.adi.    and what about the other log file...

I forget the name of it.   Not sure which is rescanned.
