Locked WSJT-X working on an TS-570D? #txaudio #AudioIssues #signalink
Bob
We can hear transmit audio on the signalink - it is just that nothing is getting through to the TS-570D. In WSJT-X settings, selecting the TS-570D just gives a communication error message from Hamlib, so we have been using Omnirig instead. The Cat control is working both ways, so it looks like it is just an audio problem, or the Cat control requesting the wrong settings. -- Steve M0NMA |

If I recall correctly, the monitor jack on the SignaLink-USB is receive audio rather than transmit audio.

I used a TS-570D and a Signalink USB successfully back a few years. If you don’t hear the Signalink audio in the TS-570D sidetone monitor then something isn’t hooked up right or the Signalink is broken (less likely). Make sure the AF Input is set correctly. __________ 73, Jim – N4ST

I am helping a new amateur get wsjt-x working on his Kenwood TS-570D. The RX side is working well, but he is not transmitting any audio when wsjt-x transmits. he is using a signal link interface to a Win10 pc, running Dimension 4. The settings on his pc are correct for the sound card, cat control works and the Cat Test and PTT test both seem to be working. looking at the playback device in sounds/control panel shows that there is activity on signal link audio device, which is also set as the default communication device. does anyone have wsjt-x working with a TS-570D?

he is using a signal link interface to a Win10 pc,Is the SL connected to the mic/headphone jacks of the Kenwood transceiver or the ACC2 (DIN13) jack? Kenwood use the PTT input (PKS) on the ACC2 jack to select audio source (input). If PKS is used, Kenwood select the audio input (PKD) from the ACC2 jack and *MUTES* audio from the mic jack. If SS, the mic PTT or CAT commands are used to switch to transmit, Kenwood uses audio from the mic jack and ignores audio from ACC2 (PKD). If SL is connected to the ACC2 jack of a Kenwood transceiver, you *MUST* set PTT to VOX (generated in SL) and *NOT* CAT. 73, ... Hi Steve, teh TS-570D does not have SSB-DATA modes so you must select "Settings->Radio->Mode->USB" for this rig. In data modes you must key the rig via the rear ACC 2 socket, that socket also has the audio in and out connections you need for your sound card. Only when keyed via the ACC2 socket is the mic muted during transmit (I believe you have to manually disable the speech processor as well. The SIgnaLink USB when correctly configured and connected will key the rig via the ACC 2 socket (PKS pin), this is what you want. Select "Settings->Radio->PTT Method->VOX" as you do not want WSJT-X attempting to key the radio, let the SignaLink USB do that. All that should remain is to correctly set the Tx audio levels, see the post below for a recipe for doing that. https://wsjtx.groups.io/g/main/message/13890 73 Bill G4WJS. |
