Locked What files to back up for an Upgrade? #GeneralGroupInfo

What files should one back up to retain settings and logs in order to return JSTx to prior settings? I have very poor eyesight and I struggled for 3 days getting it set up to work properly with a Microham USB III.

Thanks
Grady

Hi Grady,

In principle none. File containing settings are in the Log directory and will not be modified during an upgrade. Of course you may take a backup  of that directory Log directory: %LOCALAPPDATA%\WSJT-X\

or only the settings file wsjt-x.ini, log file wsjtx_log.adi and possibly wsjtx.log, if you feel so.

I think what he wants to do is start over on the settings, problem is that would involve renaming the wsjt-x.ini file to something else.  The program will recreate the file, but it will have all the defaults, but the operator would have to set all his preferred settings again.
