Locked List of hashtags #special

Roger

I've seen requests for a list of hashtags.

A list of hashtags can be found here:-
https://wsjtx.groups.io/g/main/hashtags

I know that this is not ideal for those who do not use the web interface and some would prefer a list. However the list is particularly dynamic at the moment and when I was tagging the pinned posts yesterday I realised we were short of a few.

The group is also seeing an escalating number of repeated requests which can be answered by a number of pinned posts which appear at the top of the archive. Setting the Tx audio level is a prime example. I would encourage members to look at the pinned posts and search the archive before making a request as previous threads may assist with your problem.

I wouldn’t know a hashtag if it jumped up and bit me. I’m not on social media at all, and I don’t intend to have to partake in or log into a web page in order to make use of this or any other forum.

Would someone care to explain?

I have to agree with you Gary -- this will probably prevent me from contributing anything of use. Hashtags do not belong in email.

Gary,

I agree 100%

This is not twitter, there are ways to search and ways to mute the subject already, we don't need to make things more complicated.

I vote for a new hashtag

Gary, Joe and All,

Just ignore hashtags and don’t use those, if you don’t want to use features hashtags provide.

You may continue as before, no need to web page at all.

PS. Has anybody tested how multiple hashtags behave? Before that information multiple hashtags may have unwanted side-effect, hi! Personally I prefer to see only a single hashtag in each message.

Not true. The list owner said that messages without hashtags would
not be posted. That limits e-mail users to responding to messages
with hashtags in the subject line.

Larry,  I suggest you read a bit more about how they are used by GroupsIO .  They assist the moderators considerably and can be very user-friendly .
