Also, Bill. I got a reply from John, G4KlA, saying:
"Everything is OK. Unfortunately my updated ReadMe file was not included in the rc2 release. It is attached to this email. Your shmmax of 104857600 is fine and wsjt should run."

Bill, it is an ICOM 705 connected through USB for audio and CAT. I have made some contacts, so I assume I am okay. I am using the driver titled: /dev/cu.usbmodem143201. Thanks. -- Bill W8BC

I am now in the Radio tab trying to select the correct serial port.
I am not sure what I am looking for. I understand that Big Sur already has the necessary driver built in, but what is it called, if anyone can help? -- Bill W8BC

I am trying to install version 2.3.0-rc2 on my Mac running Big Sur (11.1). I am following the instructions in the Read Me file. It says at one point:
Now re-boot your Mac. This is necessary to install the changes. After the reboot you should re-open the Terminal window as before and you can check that the change has been made by typing: sysctl -a | grep sysv.shm If shmmax is not shown as 14680064 then contact me since WSJT-X will fail to load with an error message: "Unable to create shared memory segment"
In my Terminal window it says:
kern.sysv.shmmax: 104857600
What do I do?

Hi Bill,
there is a small error in the ReadMe.txt file. The parameters are correct, you should find that WSJT-X v2.3.0 RC2 runs OK.
