Locked FT4 on 15 meters
Dave Harris
It's lonely up here. FT4 could use more users on 15 meters. When the SFI (Solar Flux Index) is running high 70's or better, come on up and call CQ, listen, and be patient. There are Q's to be had.

Hi I have left my HF setup running on 15M FT8 24/7 as I am quite busy at work even in these lockdown times, I will swap over to FT4 and check it out, 73 Derek G8ECI JO03ai

Why is there no FT4 on 160 meters? Many if not most FT8 QSOs on 160 could easily be made on FT4 more quickly. 73, Ken - K4XL On Mon, Nov 16, 2020 at 5:49 PM Gary - AG0N <mcduffie@...> wrote:

I worked 15m FT4 into Brazil last week. Not bad for G5RV and 10W 😊 Regards – Phil (G0DOR)

Ok, I've monitored 21.078. 21.080, 21.140. NO FT4 activity seen. Where is the activity? What is the official frequency for FT4 there? David AD4TJ

I'm monitoring 21.074 and there are several FT4 sigs being decoded. DK7UY, YS1RR, DL9BE and HA1RB. All have sigs in the -2 to -19 level. Maybe you've been listening in all the wrong places! (pun intended) 😷 73, Ken - K4XL

Oops. My mistake. I had switched to FT8 without noticing. Sorry about that. However, I will keep an eye on 15 as a quick check of my log showed no 15 meter FT4 QSOs. I'll try calling CQ a few times every now and then and see if anything happens. 73, Ken - K4XL

OK after about 10 minutes calling CQ on 21.140 I made only one contact. IW2CAM with -08 -11 and now see LA2IZ and RW6AVK and UA6CE calling CQ. UA6CE QSO +21 +1. FT4 is alive and well on 15. 73, Ken - K4XL

Quite a bit of activity on 21.140 this morning Tuesday 0945 EST.
In about 4 minutes I have worked OK1NZ, YV5JLO, SP3AMZ, F8RZ. TS-590 SG, 50 watts 40M horizontal loop 15' above ground. Now the band just went dead, no signals ta all at 0952. Dave KC3AM On 11/16/2020 14:19, Derek Brown via

I made 19 FT4 QSO on 21 this afternoon on 21140 , a good part with the USA. and some more on 18. Stations are monitoring like you, but the first caller starts the band and the traffic takes place... Try calling you too, and you could be surprised.

I've made a few QSOs on 15m FT4 in the past, all on 21074 which WSJTX automatically skips to. What other frequencies should I check?
Loving how much quicker it is than FT8. -- 73, Patrick, W2TAR |

Patrick, The frequency that you should be on for FT4 is 21.140 not 21.074 which is the FT8 frequency. 21.140 has been quite busy this morning, but it is beginning to slow down a bit now. 73, Ken - K4XL On Tue, Nov 17, 2020 at 11:15 AM Patrick Hung <pathung@...> wrote: I've made a few QSOs on 15m FT4 in the past, all on 21074 which WSJTX automatically skips to.
