Phil,

you can always move or resize a Windows window, even if the application menu is off the screen, there is no need to change the monitor resolution. If you hover the mouse pointer over the task bar icon for the application whose window you wish to move or resize, then hover over the relevant thumbnail icon that pops up from the task bar; then right-click to reveal a pop up menu which includes a "Move" button, and, if the window can be resized, a "Size" button. Pressing the "Move" button and then pressing one of the keyboard arrow keys will attach the window to the mouse cursor allowing you to drag it back onto the screen using the mouse, then single-left-click to drop the window in the new location.

Thanks for replies.

It seems to have been related to the initial location of the main whindow when first running. I couldn't move the main wsjt-x window from the top left of the desktop and the top part of the window was hidden meaning I couldn't resize. Having tried a lower resolution which allowed me to move the window away from the top left of the desktop, hen I changed back to 4K I could then grab and position of the window, plus I could also grab and move the waterfall -x window. So all appears which it turned out was behind the main wsjt-x window. So all appears OK now, hen I close and re open the program, the windows are still at the same new position.

I also run multiple screens.  3 to be exact.  On my main (right) screen, I have my browser open with 5 tabs loaded.  After that gets going, I start HRD where my Logbook and Rotor are on this main screen which is right in front of my operation position.  On the far left screen is my HRD Rig Control.  All of those are in full screen mode except for the rotator.  On the middle screen is WSJTx at less than full screen and its Waterfall is overlaid on the bottom half of my HRD RC (left most) screen.  JTAlert is docked to the top of WSJTx with 3x6 rows, the Macro list is docked to the right of WSJTx.  All screens are 1280x1024 since my monitors are 17" square and this configuration works great for me.  Everything is functionally and easily readable.

When not running WSJTx modes, I move the RC to the middle screen for ease of access.  If I use HRD's DM780 digital software, it's on the right (main) screen in full.

I have used this setup for many years with great ease of use.  My computer is a small Dell i5 with 8Gb RAM and a 500Gb SSD.  Not a powerhouse for sure.  CPU idles at 20% and RAM usage is about 40% with everything active.  Totally responsive for all tasks I have running, even when using remote access software to operate from my recliner.

I run my screens at 1920x1080 with WIN 10 without a problem - but I do not fill the screen with a single window.
Have HRD, WSJT-X and JTAlert (and Waterfall) all running OK.

are you trying to fill the whole screen with just WSJT?
I am running 2 4K monitors and have no issues running WSJT... although its only part of the screen on one monitor of course.

Good morning.
I have finally had to replace my aging WinXP laptop with a shiny new Win10 Dell. WSJT-X installs OK but does not display correctly at max resolution (3840x2160). It is better if I reduce to 1980x1200 but not ideal. Does anyone know if there is a max supported screen resolution I should aim at? I've looked at the help files but can only find details of recommended minimum resolution. I have tried all options but just wondering if it is a screen resolution issue or something else that I can check.

Thanks
