Locked Feature suggestion
s@...
Would be very handy to have a "lookup feature" where callsigns and locators could be easily accessible. Right clicking on a call sign under the DX Call label or a locator under DX Grid label cound launch https://www.qrz.com/db/<call sign> or something like http://www.levinecentral.com/ham/grid_square.php?Grid=JO89 for grids...
Look up service could be configurable i Setting. Similar context menu could also be implemented when right clicking on a row in the Band Activity window. Another handy feature would be a short command for docking/aligning the waterfall window to the bottom of the main WSJT-X window. Maybe docking could be the default action when opening a Waterfall window... Best regards/73 de SA5QED David |

I don't know if any of that functionality already exists as I am a new user, but nice ideas.
I'd like to know if it's possible to show a user you've worked before in a different colour or something so I don't keep working the same people.

OK ... the first request can be accomplished by a third-party
utility, JT-Alert or similar.

How about swapping the callbacks for setting the RX and TX frequencies in the waterfall? ! Setting the TX frequency is very clumsy if you're runnong remote desktop on a tablet or a phone. Al Gerheim Horribly mistyped on my droid. On Tue, Jan 21, 2020, 5:20 PM <s@...> wrote: Would be very handy to have a "lookup feature" where callsigns and locators could be easily accessible. Hi John,
I log my QSOs in a logging program
(RumLogNG on macOS), then regularly export the whole log as a
.adif file. In the 'Colors' tab of the WSJT-X settings dialog,
there's a button to 'Rescan ADIF log'. Clicking this causes WSJT-X
to record all the worked stations in there - so they won't be
highlighted as 'CQ'.
The file it scans is in your log
directory (use File/Open log directory) - e.g. on macOS it's
/Users/matt/Library/Application Support/WSJT-X - and the file
that's loaded is called wsjtx_log.adi. On macOS and Linux systems
you can use a symbolic link instead of this file to point to
another file, so I've replaced that file with a link to my
exported .adif file (wsjtx_log.adi ->
/Users/matt/Documents/RUMlog-AllSoFar.adif). I think there's a
mechanism for creating links on Windows.
I don't know of any way to change the
path/file WSJT-X uses for its 'Rescan ADIF log' option, which
would make this a bit easier! Sorry, not on a Windows system at
the moment, so can't find where WSJT-X stores its config on there.
(The above is from my v2.0.1 installation; later versions may be
different).

I find I need all of the vertical space for stations calling me. Having the waterfall on a second monitor frees up space for the WSJT-X and JTAlert windows. Once the windows are arranged to your liking I find on starting a new session the windows come up in the same positions as the previous session. 73 Ed VP9GE |
