Locked In answer to my question from April 23rd ...

What mode/submode is FT4? My confidant Julian Assange assures me that the ADIF keepers unanimously agreed (at least a week ago) that FT4 is an MFSK submode. For some unknown reason, this has been kept a closely guarded secret. Even the omnipotent/ubiquitous Google can't find any 'ADIF originating' documents promulgating this edict. The original unanswered question remains - What mode/submode is FT4? SeventyThree(s).

PS. I'll wait for the definitive word on FT4 before asking 'and why is FT8 so special?' question.

Is LOTW accepting FT4 yet?  Do I need to resubmit as MFSK?  Tnx 73, Herb WB8ASI

It wasn't quite unanimous.  But the new spec 3.0.10 (?) hasn't been published yet.

A: MODE field value of FT4.  1 Vote.

B: SUBMODE field value of FT4 with MODE field value MFSK.   12 Votes

I use JTAlert to log FT4 QSO's to HRD v5.0
JTAlert records the MODE as FT4.

I have been uploading these log entries to eQSL with no problem and have received many confirmations.    eQSL is automatically converting the uploaded FT4 mode entries to MFSK | FT4 and on eQSL cards the MODE is displayed as MFSK (FT4).

Hopefully, LoTW will soon make a similar accommodation.
Log entries uploaded to LoTW using FT4 as a mode are rejected.
I have used the TQSL option to map FT4 to DATA and have been able to upload QSO entries that way, but haven't received a single confirmation.  I will re-upload these QSO's when LoTW figures out what to do with them.

An updated TQSL configuration file was released this morning and LoTW now accepts FT4 as a submode of MFSK.
