No GPS, no NTP time sync. Can software be written to use WWV?
I wonder how many might consider using this free source when all else might be hard to use. Consider WWV from your smartphone that could be used to manually sync at 1 (303) 499-7111 (WWV). try it out.

Probably inverter driven motors, compressors, fan's etc, with poor EMI suppression. Some central heating gas boilers in the UK also radiate similar noises, especially on 18MHz, as they start up, then

Trying to find info regarding the ocean buoy that provides automatic FT8 QSO's
I doubt it, that's from 2016! There is a recent floater deployment off the CA coast in the Pacific. But, it's a QRP APRS & WSPR device. It just periodically broadcasts it's position and some data etc.

If it's a Networking Icon, you've probably just knocked your 'DSL modem off line, so Windows is complaining it's cut off from the mother-ship!. Have Fun. Dave G0WBX.

wsjt-x worked great for Field Day -- with two bugs
I've never understood, why "inappropriate" or just downright "wont work right" controls are not greyed out and disabled, on a per mode basis. Plenty of other GUI based programs do that, not just Ham R
