CIV "usually" selects the front microphone, so if you have everything else correct, CIV will keep your audio going to the ACC from ever getting to the rig. ( don't select CIV or CAT in the software )

CAT "typically" activates the front panel microphone audio in. So if you are connecting the audio soundcard to the back ACC port, the soundcard interface ptt needs to be selected. W4DNR

Key Word is "Some". Some will / some won't. Some will only activate front microphone through CAT. Such radios should use PTT through the soundcard interface instead of CAT,

You gotta have an external wattmeter of some sort to try to confirm the radio is sending out RF. A friend across town ? A spare radio ? A 60 watt lightbulb attached to a piece of coax with a connector
