Two of the clever aspects of FT8 are its source encoding and the application of LDPC forward error correction while maintaining a very narrow audio bandwidth that allows many FT8 signals to coexist wi

Curious: Why do the four-tones LDPC modes FT4 and FST4 (but not FST4W) have the source scrambled before adding the CRC and parity, whereas the other modes, FT8 and MSK144 don't? I can't see any obviou

Just curious: Why is the compacted data for FST4 scrambled whereas the other LDPC modes FT4/8 and MSK144 are not? The latters' compressed data conveniently appears directly in the symbols. Andy www.g4

Is the bandwidth for #FST4 quoted correctly in the v2.3.1 User Guide?
#FST4
I am translating the v2.3.1 User Guide. In section 17.2.10, Table 7 quotes the FST4-15 Keying rate (Baud) to 16.67 baud, whilst the Bandwidth is quoted as 67.6 Hz. Should that be (16.67 x 4 =) 66.7 Hz

Thanks for version 2.4.0-rc3. In the v2.4.0-rc3 User Guide, the illustration of section 10.1.5 Mode Menu shows the v2.3.0 Mode Menu, including QRA64 and ISCAT, both to be deprecated in v2.4.0. I guess

Joe, anyone can do that very easily. Just reset and export the whole list. Note we do not do what you suggest because we need the ability to remove frequencies as well as add them. 73 Bill G4WJS.
