copy and paste only the new entries in the adi log, into a fresh file, then import that file. 1 make sure you call it something different 2 make sure you remember where you saved it 3 you may have to rename from a .txt to the correct .adi extension. all before importing kind of make the udp stuff a time saver though Dave Garber VE3WEJ / VE3IE On Thu, May 13, 2021 at 5:28 PM Ken Lemke <kclemke@...> wrote:

Brian, the little arrows at the top and bottom of the pane are scroll buttons. The massive number of entries in the list, under Linux, is due to two phenomena:

possibly a timing issue where you are clicking on the wanted call before the system has finished decode cycle #3. The list of calls decoded many times jumps up at the end and can cause your effect.

Thank you Bill and Dave, I'll try the suggested fixes/checks and report back, I think Bill you nailed it, timing, after my computer fried, literally, I haven't installed or set the clock synchronization. Using WIN10 and Logger32 along with WSJTx and JTAlert. After a dozen or so QSOs, I'll import the JTALERTlog.adi file into Logger32. When I do that, I get almost as many older QSO records, but with different times than the record that's already in Logger32. Not using UDP...It's a pain to have to delete. Ideas???? |

This has been an issue as many have mentioned. As was mentioned, turn off the Windows screen saver as that somehow seems to kill the TX audio for sure, I do still get the occasional TX audio not transmitting tones. One quick fix is to restart WSJT but you lose all your data, another way I have found is to go into settings and reselect the sound card (even though it shows that it is already). Save and back out to WSJT and it usually works.

Hello everyone! New member and first time poster here.
Sorry if this issue has been handled and I missed it somehow. If a group of, say 5, calls shows up in the band activity window and I double click on the third one, sometimes the system proceeds as if I clicked on the last (5th) one. Unfortunately, that is frequently a station that I've already worked and am not trying to work again. It's very random as to when it might happen (once or maybe twice a day) but it's consistent in that I click on any line in the group except the last one and it still treats me as if I clicked on the last one. I'm running WSJT-X version 2.3.1 on an HP laptop with and Icom 7600 connected with a usb cable if that provides any help. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks, Hutch - K4SQL |

Thanks for the clarification Bill, I didn't realize this. Perhaps I read it in the manual years ago and forgot, no idea.
I no longer have my FT-DX3000. When I did, it was correctly set to "Fake it" but in 3 years of daily operation, I never once noticed the VFO changing frequencies when transmitting unless I was in F/H. I guess it did, I just didn't see it. When I noticed my new radio doing it while set to "fake it", I thought it was outside the realm of normal behavior. This is why I read these threads, helpful info via community support. FB. 73 Fred K3FRK |

Hi Bill & all.
Couldn't be also a timing error caused by hamlib (when set to use "Ham Radio Deluxe" which means sending commands via network rather then on Cm port) ? I agree with : when HRD is used as a proxy it handle all what he receive from upstream. But as a matter of fact HRD should only change rig frequency. It does this perfectly when WSJT-x ask to change band. So why it's not handled when WSJT-x operate a "fake" TX split ? I hope it's somewhere else and not due to HRD otherwise ... Kind 73 de Rick |

There is external software that interfaces with WSJT-X that does this and more.
Gridtracker and JTAlert. Have a look at them. On May 13, 2021, at 12:30 PM, Wes Elton <wes@...> wrote:Jeff Townsend WB8LYJ/R |

Config Question
#WSJTX_config
Wes Elton
Hi all,
My thanks to those who responded with constructive comments. Given their structure, I had hoped it would be realised that the two callsigns I used as an example would be recognised as being "made up", my mistake. What I tried to indicate was that when a band is really busy, several "pages" of decodes will have passed and a wanted CALLING DX callsign could easily have been missed. It is only on seeing someone calling/going back to the wanted DX that it's presence would be known No, have not heard a P5 but was just asking if what I outlined as a possible feature was even achievable having carefully pointed out that I have no knowledge of software. Would a software wizard please confirm whether or not this feature could be available in the future. As an aside, I don't drink coffee. Regards to all es Stay Safe. Wes. GW3RIH. |

Hi,
There are 2 , possibly more, issues here.
1) The tune issue has been addressed on here and is hopefully being fixed next release. If you hit tune and then decide to call CQ or answer someone the 1st TX period does not send tones. Hit disable TX, re-enable TX and it's fine.
2) I my case the loss of TX tones was due to a feature in HDMI monitors that uses a function of USB. Again covered here previously. I'd have a variable period of inactivity, then see a station I wanted to contact, double click and the rig would go to TX but no tones. Cycle the disable/enable and OK. I cured it by never allowing the monitor to sleep. This was over 2 years ago and hasn't re-appeared. YMMV.
It's worth going through the subjects archive to see if you can see something related. Admittedly that's a chore, but most answers are there.

From: "N2BRG" <n2brg@...> To: main@WSJTX.groups.io Subject: Re: [WSJTX] WSJT-X LOSES TUNE AND XMT CAPABILITY #general I agree with you and Peter, it is definitely not RFI. I lost the output with 1 or 2 watts output from my FT-857 and even lost it while transmitting into a 50-ohm load. Sometimes I can switch back and forth between tune and transmit and the RF is back. I also found going to tune then raising the power and the tx snapped in, but these fixes may have been a fluke. The only real fix was restarting WSJT-X. The frustrating part is trying to work a new grid, a needed DXCC station on FT8, or an MSK144 Meteor Scatter contact and look up and you're not transmitting for most of the sequence. Starts out transmitting then shows transmitting but nothing out. I have noticed this issue mainly in RC4 which I just updated to. If it was there earlier I did not notice it. Microsoft released an update in April 2021 that has just about killed all my computers. A major MS screwup. Search for update KB5001330. It shows many references to Gammers which I am not, but BSOD and slowdowns are a major issue in general. Now I am not saying that it is this update causing this issue, but it looks mighty suspicious. I removed that update from my main computer that I do video/audio editing and CAD on it is back to normal speed for rendering. Again, I am not saying it is that update. I am running version 20H2 build 19042.948. I checked that via the Windows key +R and type winver. Removing that update can also be a nightmare. After you remove it Windows wants to reboot after the reboot it reinstalls it as a missing update again. I can't find that option to hide certain updates. Apparently, windows removed that option to force updates. I had to go into Safemode to remove it and then turn off updates completely. So, is this a bug with RC4 and or a reaction to a Windows update? Due to the bad Windows updates and the lack of support from Microsoft, Linux may have a future on the computer I use mainly for Amateur Radio. 73's Gary N2BRG |
