There is no audio when I transmit. My PC keys my xcvr correctly, but without audio. I am decoding correctly, so I know my audio setup is at least partially correct.

No audio on transmit.

I use a Ham Radio Deluxe and a FTdx3000 with the internal CODECs. They were working fine until I tried to install another device that used the CODECs. It seems to have corrupted the Yaesu drivers and wsjt-x stopped sending audio. After reloading the Yaesu drivers many, many times, wsjt-x now receives audio (and decodes) but doesn't transmit audio.

The CODECs are selected with the soundcard in wsjt-x and DM780 (the digital modes program in HRD.) The internal speaker and microphone are selected as the devices for all other applications.

I have been at this for 5 days (no, truly) and I cannot get wsjt-x to transmit audio.

Does anyone have a fix?

Locked #IC-705 and #WSJT-X crashing #Icom #wsjt-x

Edited

I am using WSJT-X as follows:

IC-705 in WLAN
MS Surface Pro 3 connected via same WLAN
Using ICOM RS-BA-1 software
I am not using USB cable
All of these work perfectly and establish a good connection

I start WSJT-X configured for the correct virtual COM and VIrtual audio provided by the connection to RS-BA-1 software
Every time I start from scratch it all works perfectly.

BUT . . . the second I manually spin the 705 frequency dial WSJT-X instantly disconnects from the CAT. Other manual adjustments on the 705 will do the same.

When I try to re-connect it sends all kinds of CAT errors but audio is still connected
To get it working again I have to power everything off.and start all over.

Thanks . . . grateful for any help on this one

Hi Hasan,

OK on the work around.  While I do have different configurations for my TS-590SG and IC-9700, it is not a big deal just to restart manually.  It only takes a few seconds.  I just did a FYI post so if others see the same situation, you folks won’t get a bunch of reports on the same issue.

I hope all is well.  6m has been wild over the last few weeks.  The best DX heard were three stations in Kazakhstan from here in New England.  That was a 6,200 mi path if it was over the pole but I was hearing them from the ENE.  My less than 100W did not make it.  LOL.  But a few of the big guns did get some of them.

Cheers,

Joe, K1YOW

As a work around, make a separate configuration for every mode
That will cause a program restart for every mode  change.

Problem still needs to be fixed, but this will get you by in the mean time.

I did not see the issue because I have a separate  config for every mode and submode.

WSJT-X 2.5.0  rc1

I was working some MA to FL Es on 50.313 on FT8 and all worked great.  No problems at all.

Then I switched to Q65-30A on 50.275 and called four CQs.  No one around.

Then I switched back to FT8 on 50.313 and the FT8 signals were not decoding.

I stopped WSJT-X and restarted it and all was fine.  FT8 was decoding as normal.

TIME.IS shows the time as exact.

This is repeatable 100%.

So, after a FT8-Q65-FT8 mode change sequence, FT8 stops decoding.  A restart fixes it.  It is repeatable 100%.

Hi Walt,

you may be able to help with diagnosis as follows:

Start WSJT-X from a terminal like this:

gdb wsjtx

If that errors out because gdb is not installed then install gdb (sudo apt install gdb). Then do what is required to cause the crash, gdb should trap the signal, at the (gdb) prompt type:

bt

and hit ENTER. Report back with what gets printed. Quit gdb with q then ENTER.

I have copied the .adi file to the WSJT-X - 7300 folder, there wsjtx shows the .adi file and clicked to rescan the adi file in the setup->color tab jut nothing happens.
Does anybody has a clue for me?

Hi Jamie,

have you checked the "Settings->General->Show DXCC, grid, and worked before status" option?

BTW, rather than copy your WSJT-X log file to each instance's log files directory, make a symlink so they all share the same file.

Hi Jaime,

You need to copy over your .ini file to the new instance. I just did this for a IC7300 & 9700.

I made the original file as a MASTER and then did the rig names for each one. So I have 3 ICONS.

Because the process creates a new folder for each in the "open log directory" area, these new folders have a basic .ini file and need updating manually or by copying over.

I hope you can understand this.

Locked Possible UDP Server config bug in 2.4.0 release #IssueReport

Jeff Uchitjil

I am running on OS X and in the Reporting tab for UDP Server under outgoing interfaces, the local interface (lo0) is selected by default which is fine and probably what most people need. However I want to deselect it and select another interface to use. This appears to work fine and data only goes out the one interface until you visit any part of the configuration again or reload the configuration. At that point the local interface is again auto selected in addition to the other interface I want to use and data is going out both of them. I appears the local preference is overriding the setting chosen by the user.

The bandhop bug fixed in 2.4.0 GA is back in 2.5.0 RC1

Exactly the same issue, closes with no error as it changes bands at 115 seconds in the cycle, unless you let it do a few cycles then check the bandhop box

Was good while it lasted 😊

Dave,

I am running the latest release. On the rcv pane and am getting worked before
in read. This is on the Windows 7 computer. On the Windows 10 computer it's
not showing this.
I have WSJT parameters set the same.
Any thoughts and help would be appreciated.
do you have the same logfile ( wsjtx_log.adi ) on both computers?
WSJT-X uses this logfile for "B4" information.

I haven’t used it for a while but the JTDX program will display what you want. I don’t know if it up to date with WSJT-X revisions.

no, there's no way to do that other than by modifying the program.
The country lookup would also slow down the decoding.

Equipment tends to overheat with two minute transmissions. It also tends to be rather boring to have QSOs that take that long.
