Hi Phil,

it should be there, a line looking something like this:

Hi Phil,

that information is available in the wsjtx_syslog.log file in the WSJT-X

log files directory ("Menu->File->Open log directory"). Scroll to near

the end to see the application startup log messages which include the

Hamlib version being used.

If I TX messages 4 or 5 it happens that obviously only the DX callsign

Arnold,

If you really want to find it, just go to route File – Open log directory and it should be there as “wsjtx_log.adi” or “wsjtx_log”, if your file extension are hidden. At least for the current instance of wsjt-x.

Bill,

Yes but I don’t think it was RFI getting in. It was independent of TX/RX state, and hasn’t happened since. Decodes seemed to happen OK.

Hi Jonathon,

the WSJT-X ADIF log file is just a text file and new entries are
appended to the end. Unless you have some application that can read the
whole file, understand the ADIF record format, and sort the data the way
you want it; you are not going to get that.

ADIF is a format for transferring log records from one application to
another. Importing the ADIF file into a station logging application will
allow you to search the records etc..

You have set PTT method to RTS on port COM3.
The same COM3 port is also used in OmniRig.
Have you tried setting PTT method to CAT in WSJT-X?

Mike FYI in helping others to troubleshoot--

I've long used a Tascam US100 USB-connected audio interface from the world of pro audio. Nothing fancy, 48 kHz 16-bit max, bu in addition to having very good A/D, it has front panel gain controls for both I and O, and a green/red signal presence/clip lite. I use it for the two K3s that are on my operating desk for SO2R (single-op-two radios) contesting for CW, SSB, and RTTY on HF, and of course, for WSJT modes in the primary rig (right channel). Several times, Windoze updates have re-configured it as mono, which is a train wreck for WSJT-X. The fix is to reconfiged as stereo. My primary (non-contesting) rig is on the right channel, and it's the one that does WSJT-X. Although I'm a serious contester, I've yet to be bitten by the HF FT8/FT4 contesting bug, but I'm serious as a heart attack on 6M and 160M, and I do lots of SO2R HF RTTY contests very seriously.

Success! - I swapped the USB port I was using for my wireless keyboard/mouse dongle with the one I was using for connecting my IC-7300.  The Device Manager shows under Ports (COM & LPT) Silicon Labs - COM4 and under Sound, video, and game controllers - USB Audio CODEC.  Now both FT8 and the keyboard/mouse work.
