That would be JP2 and it is enabled so the sensitivity should be maximum. I will repeat what I said in the first post: If I switch to JTDX, using the Signalink, everything works as it should. A low setting of the RX gain on the Signalink will drive the JTDX audio level indicator into the red. And, even with WSJT the waterfall signal level is good - no shortage of signal level there. Also tried a previous level of WSJT-X with no change to the problem. 73, Floyd |

Hi Steve. The H/W Mic Gain only applies to a mic plugged into the front panel mic connector. I'm using the AUX input on the rear panel. And, these gain controls affect only the transmit level signal, not the received. 73, Floyd |

FYI, I installed 6.0.2 about a week ago without any issues on a MacBook Pro with Monterey 12.1 on it.

Floyd, you might want to check Menu-SSB-H/W Mic Gain. The default is 0dB.

All works just fine when using my Icom IC-7610 with it's built-in soundcard. Put my Tentec Orion II back into service today, using a Signalink USB. All is fine on transmit. On receive, WSJT-X shows the receive audio level as seen on the scale in the lower left corner of WSJT-X screen no higher than 19 dB and that's with the Signalink RX pot full clockwise and the Windows level for that USB connection turned up full. I next tried JTDX and there the audio level works as it should and I can get full scale audio level with the Signalink RX knob just a few degrees past the counterclockwise end of rotation. So, something odd going on with WSJT-X and that USB input from the Signalink. Any ideas? Using WSJT-X 2.5.4 level. Copy seems to be fine and waterfall looks like it should. 73, Floyd - K8AC |

SignaLink RX audio is MONO.
What happens if you pull RX audio from the radio's (TenTec) headphone jack (maybe stereo) and feed that into the SPKR 3.5mm socket (stereo) on the rear of the S-Link? that way the VOL control on the radio will have an affect on the S-Link's input signal. Barry k3eui |

I agree - it doesn't make much sense, but that's what's happening. Same audio devices for input in each case.

Hi Jeff,
V6.0.2 is the latest version but, I wouldn't install it yet just incase you end up with the screen problems that I have experienced as it renders your Mac unusable. I got a reply from the Silicon Labs support asking for more info which I've now provided. My MacBook Pro is my main computer and I need it for a lot of other things apart from radio and so I'm now thinking of using a PC for the radio stuff rather than my Mac. I have two old PCs to hand which should be fine for WSJT-X/FT8, I think I'll install Ubuntu Linux onto one of them and see if I can get it working. I use Virtualbox on my MacBook Pro so I can run a Windows VM for Eznec Antenna design, I'm beginning to wonder if the USB driver/kernel extension that Virtualbox installs is causing a conflict with the Silicon Labs VCP driver. I'm aware that in the VCP driver release notes it's talks about not using VMWare as its USB driver conflicts with the Silicon Labs driver, I'm now wondering if the Virtualbox USB driver also conflicts even though it's not detailed in the release notes. Only way to prove this will be to uninstall Virtualbox from my MacBook Pro and reinstall the Silicon Labs driver and see what happens. The only thing putting me off doing this is having to reinstall MacOS all over again if it bricks my MacBook again! Best 73, Mike. M0AWS http://m0aws.co.uk |

That doesn't make much sense unless you have different audio devices selected for input. There's about a 12dB difference in the way WSJT-X and JTDX present the audio level. WSJT-X uses RMS and JTDX uses peak voltage so JTDX runs higher.

Thanks for the reply. I tried installing v6.0.2, it installed just fine but, I found my MacBook Pro screen wouldn't come on after sleep or at cold boot time rendering it useless. I've had to reinstall MacOS Big Sur to get the MacBook Pro working properly again, uninstalling just the driver made no difference at all. I'll give v6.0.1 a try and see if it works. Mike. I haven't tried Rig Split in WSJT-X with my FTDX10 but here is what DO1YHJ said in one of the FTDX10 groups:
"Using Rig Split and Mode None in WSJT-X, you have to set it manually for VFO B. Using Mode USB or Data/Pkt with Rig Split, the Modes are set correctly for both VFO. WSJT-X can't set the Preset Mode, you have to set it yourself if needed. Once activated, it goes for both VFO. " 73, Steve VE3SMA |

I had some issues with the Silicon Labs 6.0 drivers when Big Sur came out. Here is my forum (Silicon Labs’ forum) post about 6.0 version not working. https://www.silabs.com/community/interface/forum.topic.html/new_cp210x_vcp_driveronbigsur-5icm There is a link to an unreleased 6.0.1 version of the drivers that worked for me. My FT8 transmissions were going fine until recently. The only thing that i believe that changed was that we were using. AirPlay to watch movies on a smart TV. I've swapped all devices and wires out except the mac, checked and rechecked settings, undid a mute on the control panel, removed Airplay and the smart TV and checked for viruses/malware. Has anyone had similar issues? What other troubleshooting is possible. TIA
