... got a different path (/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu) but that should be OK. So far I have no libhamlib.so.4* in my system. - In the download section of the wsjtx-page <https://www.physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/K1JT/wsjtx.html> it does not specify the need for any other "non-of-the-shelf" hamlib-version so far, but says that the downloadable .deb ist for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (which I am running). ... The logging directory contains also files that specific to installation in the old computer and its processing features. It is recommended not to move those into the new one. Unfortunately I don't recall which file Bill listed, but at least those containing "wisdom" are computer specific and should not be copied over. On the operating point of view minimum is wsjtx_log.adi for worked before and wsjt-x.ini for settings (some issues may require a new value in the Settings in any case. In addition wsjtx.log, if you have used it for any purpose (it is human readable mirror of the adi-file). Another potentially useful file to keep is ALL.TXT, but it could be very large unless renamed say one a month or so. If there is some contest that is not yet transferred into a Cabrillo file, then the db.sqlite is needed. CALL3.txt is usefull, if you have saved DX Call - DX Grid pairs for later use. 73, Reino OH3mA -----Original Message-----

I would guess that installing WSJT-X on the new machine would create an initial set of files in that location so probably best to copy over all the files from the old machine after you've installed WSJT-X, allowing the copy process to overwrite whatever has already been created by the WSJT-X installation process. -- Martin G0HDB |

Hi,
Select WSJT-X in your "Applications" folder and right click on it. From the displayed menu, select "Show Package Contents". You should now see a number of folders and sub-folders. Open "Resources" folder and then the "wsjtx" folder. You should see the "cty.dat" file. Just replace that with the new file. Cheers, David VK3DRH |

What happened to Hamring? Alternatives?
#TechnicalHelpQuestion
#TechnicalHelpQuestion
Tim Mitchell <tim@...>
Hi, I have been hunting for some good options for selcall on my SG-2020 and came across hamring which seemed to be heading in the right direction, like a phone calling app and on a phone. I now see that the Hamring group is defunct and my e-mails are being returned from the developer. It seems like the guy who made the program is no longer with us. Is there anywhere I can get a download of the program demo? I know some of the members here use this app. If there isn't someone who can send me a copy, can someone please give me some pointers for an equally functional program? I also came across ToneTool but that is also unavailable..
Any info or help would be appreciated, 73s, Tim. |

Re: error shared memory in mac
#wsjt-x-crashing
Dave Nelson W6NEL <w6nel@...>
The easiest way I have found to fix the Shared Memory Error is with a "Shortcut".
1. Open the Shortcut app 2. Make a new Shortcut using File > New Shortcut 3. In the search box enter "Run AppleScript" and choose "Run AppleScript" below 4. Replace the text in the editing window with do shell script "sudo sysctl -w kern.sysv.shmmax=104857600" user name "username" password "pass" with administrator privileges Replacing username with your username and pass with your password 5. Click the hammer icon, your script should no longer be purple 6. Close the Editor Window 7. In the Shortcut App window right-click the new shortcut, it will probably be named "Run AppleScript", and choose "Rename". Rename your shortcut to something that makes sense to you, I used "WSJT-X Memory Error" Now you can run it any time you need it. |

FT8 crash after new install under Bullseye
#stopped_working
I’ve had WSJTX running for several years on Raspberry Pi under Raspbian Buster I installed an image of Bullseye on the same RPi. I then installed WSJTX and copied over WSJT-X.ini, wsjtx_log.adi, wsjtx.log and ALL.TXT. Starting FT8 it will run properly for seconds to perhaps 30 seconds and then crashes. I noticed at startup, in the box next to the right of the Mode on the bottom, it says “worked before records created” and then disappears. Any suggestions? 73 Brian K7BLS |

I am running a 15 MHz WSPR on a PI unit with a TAPR daughter board at 100 mw. With filtering. It is attached to an old resurrected Hustler 6BTV about a100 yds from my 3 element beam.
When I switch to my shack beam and monitor on my base radio I will see harmonics. The main RX freq sees my 100 mw at 35db and the second, third, fourth etc are usually starting at -25 db or so. This is normal for the close proximity even with filtering on the WSPR. The PI unit is working real well on 15 m. Typical day is 25 to 30 hearings at any given time., all the way to Africa, Japan and Australia. Look for my out there from Tucson. Gary -- KT7AZ |

It might be an option for a "Rig Blaster" type interface that uses the front panel mike connector and a switchbox before the microphone.input connector. It seems ( to me ) a waste of a well thought out method of feeding dissimilar levels to the TS2000. But different strokes ................
