Hi Robert,

unless the rig has a USB-DATA mode yo should not be checking the "Settings->Radio->Mode->Data/PKT" option in WSJT-X. Try "Settings->Radio->Mode->USB".

what is the exact error message you had when using DX Lab Suite Commander as a rig control intermediary? You can copy WSJT-X error messages to the Windows clipboard by hitting Ctrl+C while the message box has keyboard focus.

Keep an eye on it  - 6m wide open last couple of days - expect at least another day of it looking at weather forecast . The other thing to try - tune to a local beacon (if you have one) you should see it on the waterfall.

Get a local to come on and check - it may just be you need to adjust the sliders.

If you made a CQ the audio getting in/out OK.

Keep trying - just watch the Stations in Florida - they seem to be very deaf - Yes spent about 2 hours trying to get two  this afternoon and failed :-(

Ok on details - you should still be able to play FT8 without cat control.

First off, it looks like you have WSJT-X installed as you mentioned no TS60 as option - so set that pulldown to None.

If you have a signal link - if you have used it before on this mac then it should still be working.

On WSJT-X settings set ptt to vox, on the audio tab set the in/out to be the USB sound device you are using with the Signal-link.

You do need to make sure the time is correct, Mac does have built in tools for this (so ignore comments like use D4, Meinlberg etc. etc they are Windows).

WSJT-X works well under Mac, you should not need any additional software to make QSOs.

At this point as 99% of my experience is on the Windows platform I will let you digest and play with what you have. Come back to the group on the next issue - many many happy Mac users are here.

Locked Re: Faster decodes

Joe

Hi Jim,

Did you read the Release Notes?  Or the Section "New in Version 2.2.0" in the User Guide?

"FT8: Decoding is now spread over three intervals. The first starts 11.8 s into an Rx sequence and typically yields around 85% of the possible decodes, so you see most decodes much earlier than before. A second processing step starts at 13.5 s, and the final one at 14.7 s. Overall decoding yield on crowded bands is improved by 10% or more. Systems with receive latency greater than 0.2 s will see smaller improvements, but will still see many decodes earlier than before."

Hi Martin,

configurations are not suitable for that use, you need to start WSJT-X with a `--rig-name=<something-unique>` command line option. That completely isolates the instances with separate settings, log files, and configurations.

As a bonus, if you have multiple rigs and audio interfaces, you can run multiple instances simultaneously.

Hi Cedric,

do not add spaces, it should be:

wsjtx --language=en

or

wsjtx -l en

If that does not work then there is a fix in for the next release. You can also change the primary language for your operating system if you prefer English.
