Re: Alinco DX-SR8T, DX-Commander and WSJYX rig control
Hi Robert,
unless the rig has a USB-DATA mode yo
should not be checking the
"Settings->Radio->Mode->Data/PKT" option in WSJT-X. Try
"Settings->Radio->Mode->USB".

Keep an eye on it - 6m wide open last couple of days - expect at least another day of it looking at weather forecast . The other thing to try - tune to a local beacon (if you have one) you should see it on the waterfall. Get a local to come on and check - it may just be you need to adjust the sliders. If you made a CQ the audio getting in/out OK. Keep trying - just watch the Stations in Florida - they seem to be very deaf - Yes spent about 2 hours trying to get two this afternoon and failed :-( Tom --

Hey Tom. It appears to be working! I responded to a CQ and made the contact. Interestingly, the Waterfall shows no activity.... Maybe because there's little/now activity on 6M these days...?? On Mon, Jun 1, 2020 at 4:45 AM Tom Melvin <tom@...> wrote:

Re: Faster decodes
Hi Jim,
Did you read the Release Notes? Or the Section "New in Version 2.2.0" in the User Guide? "FT8: Decoding is now spread over three intervals. The first starts 11.8 s into an Rx sequence and typically yields around 85% of the possible decodes, so you see most decodes much earlier than before. A second processing step starts at 13.5 s, and the final one at 14.7 s. Overall decoding yield on crowded bands is improved by 10% or more. Systems with receive latency greater than 0.2 s will see smaller improvements, but will still see many decodes earlier than before." -- 73, Joe, K1JT |

I have made a couple of contacts with
However here is when I select the dx commander
I have loaded the ALinco XML into dx-commander and from all of the DX labs software seems ok, and that same XML works with FL-DIGI

Hello,Hi Martin, configurations are not suitable for that use, you need to start WSJT-X with a `--rig-name=<something-unique>` command line option. That completely isolates the instances with separate settings, log files, and configurations. As a bonus, if you have multiple rigs and audio interfaces, you can run multiple instances simultaneously. 73 Bill G4WJS. |

Hello,
tahk you all for the fantastic WSJT-X programm. I use it with great fun ! But ... I own my private call, a Club-Call and a special call. So I want to log in different files and also need different worked-B4 data. Wouldn't it be nice, if WSJTX stores the relvant data in a seperate directory, dependant of the configuration used, or the log-directory could be changed in the config ? 73, Martin DL9SAD |

Alinco DX-SR8T, DX-Commander and WSJYX rig control
robert gagnon
New to Forum.....
Have been using Winwarbler and DX-Commander for months with great success (DX-Commander needed my Alinco XML for proper rig control). I am able to program the radio from DX commander or WinWarbler. Enter a fellow HAM suggesting FT8 an WSJT-X. He described the simplicity of using what I already have working. I like that as sometimes these digital modes and the control are an issue. However in my case simple was not to be found. I get a message within the WSJT on the cat test (button turns red) that DX commander issued an invalid command. In interest of troubleshooting, I installed FLDIGI and added the rig control XML (same for it and DX-Commander) and FLDIGI works and offers rig control. Since my radio is not a mainstream, I am concerned that WSJT will only be a manual mode program which unto itself has challenges. Do the WSJT-X radio control files exist in a common folder? Are they XML? Is there anyone in the forum, using the Alinco with cat control successfully or am i blazing a trail. A friend/Elmer and I went through his settings (he uses DX-Commander with his iCOM) and they still fail. Another friend/Elmer using HRD provided his settings and again the failure. I suspect it has something to do with the construction or call to the macro for my rig. Help appreciated. |

Hamlib NET rigctl
Allan Ewart
I am running Linux ubuntu 1804.4 and an ic-7610. None of the rc releases will work with hamlib NET rigctl . Version 2.1.2 has no problem with it and can be re-installed with no problem. I like the new version and running it with Icom 7610 selected works as long as I do not also have my logging (Cqrlog) up at the same time addressing hamlib. |

I noticed that with the latest version, my decodes are popping up 1-2 seconds before the tones stop. With this in mind, what data is transmitted during the last 2 seconds that appear to be not needed for a reliable decode?
