Hello Dick,
I made sure WSJT-X was uninstalled completely. I tried to download and install the dependencies, and it gave me the following output.
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt install libgfortran5

If you are seeing good signals on the screen but can't decode them, check your operating mode one more time. Some rigs will defaull to LSB for frequencies below 9 MHz. However WSPR is ALWAYS sent

Do you have WSJT-X rig setings like these?
Also make sure you are using USB-D mode.

pi@myraspberrypi$ sudo dpkg -i install <whatever you want to install>
should be:
