The big problem I have is that the audio codex for both is identical, so with both connected there is no way to differentiate except by trial and error. Wish there was a way to give them different

As in previous NRAU NAC contests the "File - Settings - Advanced" setting is set for "Special operating activity" and "EU VHF Contest".

Lack of logging happened to me also at last Thursday's monthly NRAU NAC (Nordic Activity Contest) with FT8 on 50 MHz, when the WSJT-X 2.4.0 RC4 refused to log the contacts in any way on my Windows-10

Are you saying that you hear audio from rig’s speaker? At least then your audio connection to U5 and further to PC is not working. You need to get that working before there is no need to worry

You may think your antenna length is random, but 34 feet per side makes it almost a full-wave dipole on the 20M band, therefore it has a VERY high impedance at its feedpoint, certainly NOT 50 ohms,
