I had to go back pretty far to find this issue, before writing it up as a new topic.
I too, am using HRD as the CAT control and for logging, but I see the same issue of "Fake it" no longer working

Windows Sound Control Panel. Connect one (say the 7300), rename it.
Then connect the other and rename it. You want to rename both the
input (in the "recording" tab) and the output (in the "playback"

The big problem I have is that the audio codex for both is identical, so with both connected there is no way to differentiate except by trial and error. Wish there was a way to give them different

I'm probably going to catch some critism for this, but the 7300 is one of the rigs where you should run ALC. The meter on my 7300 reads about 3/4 of full ALC scale....note that the ALC full scale is
