One of the issues is that if you pulled the hamlib from the Ubuntu default repository, it is version 3.3.

Thanks, I am not using a Rasp Pi (using a desktop with UBUNTU) but this provides some good insight into the process of building. I will see if I can use this to get the newer version of hamlib

Except WSJT-X should be using a shared library by default....not static.
Does "ldd wsjtx" show "libhamlib*" ??

Obviously the Windows DLLs won’t work on Linux. The instructions in the source tarball were too opaque for my knowledge base.

There's one "trick" to setting up Meinberg....don't click "Next:" too fast or it won't work.
When you get to "Files have been installed...Please specify your configurations settings" You have to click

Thanks. I am not yet familiar with how WSJT-X and Hamlib are built. Can I update Hamlib to fix this problem? Or would the WSJT-X version I am using be hardwired to a specific hamlib version?

Ron, Routers won't impact the operation of Meinberg or any other ntp program.
With any ntp client you do need to set it to use ntp servers that are close to you and do not use default servers.
