Re: What is the time?
Bob,
like many other relative measurements this is one that depends on your frame of reference. The sign of the DT reported has a meaning and that is that a positive DT indicates a signal is detected

Mike, at last a ray of light on the subject. Yes, you see the same results as I do, however your interpretation is counter intuitive (See NOTE 1 below). I have set me clock. I have even taken Bills

I was getting 0 decodes with a full boat of signals in the Water Fall of the 7610 and WSJT.
My time was off by 4 seconds PC vs UTC.
Reset PC to +/- 1 second and decode window populated like a stock

Bob,
perhaps Bill didn't make it clear. To understand how a nominal time difference of around 100ms is observed, then one needs to draw a diagram of all the possible sources of delay,

Bill, somehow I think the name of the game is obfuscation. Thanks, I know the time. What I'm saying is that DT doesn't. In addition to, or subtraction from, the factors you mentioned in an earlier

I tested this and it is counter intuitive. Used My TimeFudge program to bump up the clock 1 second and all DT's went up 1 second too. But that's how it should work. If your clock is fast it means

Bill, here's a graphical representation of what I say is wrong with DT. For this quick test, I set my SNTP utility to add 500ms to the RoundTrip time - My PC clock is now 250ms fast. Agreed? I

Bill, no I had not seen your reply, but I have now. But, I still think something is amiss. The DT I am seeing (regardless of the PC, the time setting utility, or the continent the test is conducted)

Yes , should be a simply change of the CI-V address as mentioned . I would be interested in reports on how this radio does with 2M FT8.
