Provided that certain conditions are met, like flat land. :)
Make the land non-flat, and modeling becomes FAR more complex. At VHF and UHF there are multiple complex propagation mechanisms at play,

Hi Neil,
the DXCC, continent, CQ, and ITU zones are determined from the callsign by looking up the AD1C CTY.DAT database. The grid is not used for that.

Hi Hasan,
We completely agree! Your 800 watts and 5 element LFA at 60 feet fed
through your low loss hard line is about as good as it gets for 6 meter
MS and Sporadic-E.

I don't believe so. Those contests have specific data items; the RTTY contest expects to find a state code entered, don't think it will handle a county code. Same with the VHF

Kai,
I've been using the arcsin a/4*h formula for years. Of course, its results can be misconstrued to mean that the single number result (1st peak) is a line and not a lobe, and that's what I was

Frank, I'm in complete agreement with you. My point, apparently poorly made, was that there is no reason to uptilt a Moxon on 6 meters that is even 20' off the ground in attempts to get better MS

Re: Constand Rig Control Error
Chuck,
That seems as if you are saying it is permanently compressing the audio input even when it is at a very low level.
There ought to be a level below which it becomes linear.
Strange.

Hi Joe,
Antenna modelling answers your question quickly and easily!
The very low 6 meter Yagi you showed is only about 1/4 wavelength high
(9 feet) to produce a elevation pattern with 3 dB beamwidth

The 3 dB beamwidth of a Moxon is about 80 degrees, fantastic for broad azimuthal coverage.
and its quite a good antenna at a height of about 10 meters and much better 15 meters high.

that information is added at the receiving end when "Settngs->General->Show DXCC, grid, and worked before status" is checked. It is derived from the callsign of the sender of the CQ message

append tetx to standard cq message
In the standard cq message I have:
CQ KK4GGL EL99
I notice that many hams have text after the locator, such as CQ Zone 31 or AF. How can I add the same type of text?
Thanks.

Hi Bob,
it's your choice, the checkbox "Settings->Colours->Highlight by Mode" determines which. You can change it any time you wish.
