I use TQSL to upload QSOs directly from the WSJTX log file at the end of each session. No need for a separate program.

I agree with John, WIN10 has a nasty habit of reorganizing com ports and audio assignments. Best fix is to restart the computer before messing with the software. This allows updates to complete.

As a test, I have installed a USB sound card on my W10 system. I get the same result as before. That is, substituting the USB sound card for
the system sound card I still get: MSK144

Settings->Sound->Advanced Settings options->App volume and devicepreferences is where I did most of my poking around. I saw the drop down boxes in the form associated with each app

Did you change the Palette setting from default to grey? Click on the Controls (Upper left corner), Look under the Palette.

waterfall has lost its color
I'm still running WSJT-X 2.1.2, and somehow the waterfall has turned black and white.
It looks like TV in the 1950s. Did I push a button I wasn't supposed to?

Turning off update is NOT the answer. You will be sad about this when you miss something critical ,especially a security thing. Find out what the real -problem is. I have ZERO problems with audio

Go into the setting and make sure the audio tab is pointing to your USB audio devices. For some reason with using other software, that get set back to speakers or other audio device rather

WSJT-X keeps it's own local log file, it is in ADIF format. That log is used for WSJT-X to highlight needed DXCCs, gridsquares, zones etc.. It can be confusing when using third-party

WSJT-X updates an adi file for all QSO’s - it is in …AppData/Local/WSJT-X/ - it is this file the ‘Rescan’ option looks at - WSJT knows NOTHING about any logger adi files - the rescan

Ted - did your Windows 'update'? (Never update Windows!)
Win10 updates have a nasty habit of screwing up your audio mixer & your codec settings!
Recheck those & TURN OFF Win10 update; by going into
