btw, I am still using ver 2.1.2 on both old and new computers until I get decode matter straightened out.
I have adjusted mic boost back to none...was just experimenting

All good here with 2.2.1, Catalina, and an older Mac mini.
Probably last OS for the hardware, too. A shame - it still works great.

It also seems to work just fine on the beta macOS 10.15.6 (19G36e) on my 2019 iMac with a 3.6GHz Quad-core i3.

so far it looks like most of the reported issues seem to be performance issues with macOS itself, probably down to some system settings needing adjustment. No issues

Stick with 2.1.2. It works fine for me.
There are some issues with 2.2.1 on Catalina.
