I will put some toroids in the audio cable just in case, although as Bill mentioned if there a bug in the hamlib version of WSJTX 2.2.2 I will need to wait.

I also use a ANC-4 with all modes and it generally knocks about 2 s units off the noise using the simple 5 foot wire that comes with the unit. On my 7610 I keep the rf gain fixed at 12 o’clock and

Hi OM,
NR on modern rigs and SDRs seems to be harmless for WSJT-X modes so long as the level is set reasonably. NB can be a problem when there are strong signals in the rig's passband, used with care

A better approach is not to use NR or NB on the receiver but to use a combination of attenuation and RF gain reduction. Ideally the “no signal” band noise should be about 10dB above the noise

Hi, I use an MFJ1026 here and if the sense aerial is suitable then I can reduce my interference with careful adjustment, it does improve FT decodes.
You may well have to play with different sense

If it works without an issue on 20 m, but don’t on 40m, then there could be too much common mode RF current on USB wire i.e. RFI. I assumed that you were transmitting and have a USB

The "result" that I am seeing is about the same for either the ANC4 or equivalent mfj boxes. The background noise is pushed down according to the S meter; but I really can not say that I am decoding
