To follow your suggestion, I did the test to check that the rig was not in the PSQ/PKS. The CTS/RTS appears briefly and then disappears from the display panel. So it confirms the correct

I use 9600 on my TS590SG, but you need to make sure the radio rate is set to the same rate as the program.

Hardware handshake is correct for the TS-590, that is also the default setting in WSJT-X.
One thing you should check is that the rig is not in PSQ/PKS

To answer your questions, no, the rig control is still an issue. Several people were also surprised to see that com3 was the active one. This was not my choice but got selected once the

not sure why you are replying to a message about a WSJT-X error when using a direct connection to a rig, when your issue seems to be related to using rigctrld as a rig server and network

Ver 2.3.0 rc2 crashes when FST4W T/R >300 starts

Tried using FST4W last night on 630m for the first time with WSJT-X Ver 2.3.0 rc2. With t/r duration greater then 300 sec program would terminate when the period started. I disabled the watchdog

Yes I did John, Actually, the radio that is brand new had the 1.07 software level, the latest one The only thing I had to install was the Silicon lab files, the ones that create the codec links. On
