Thanks for your reply Jim. This is a new band for me.
At this moment in time. We in Scotland are not getting a lot of contacts on on 6m ft8 but for me its fun with ft8 and using psk seeing a few flags

I think its more because WSJT-X is using the USB port for audio, and the rig sense that its 'in use'. I would search the rig manual for screen settings.

If I leave WSJT-X (v2.3.0) open but unused, my FTDX10 screensaver will not turn on.
If I close WSJT-X (but leave the radio on), the screensaver does turn on.
The IC-7300's screensaver turns on under

I think with summer Es season approaching it is worth reminding 6m operators to keep an eye on those dB reports! We never really had a mechanism for easily quantifying signal strengths before the dB
