it is using a Hamlib test program to open a connection to your rig and to send a fundamental query command to get the current VFO frequency. It will do the same steps

Well I downloaded the 64- bit version of 2.2 and i get an error message on start-up : wsjt-x: ENTRY POINT NOT FOUND. (attached) I close it out, get the same error message the 2nd time, close it out

can you try starting WSJT-X from a CMD prompt as follows:
C:\WSJT\wsjtx\bin\wsjtx
and see if any information is printed?

The same here with 2.2.0 RC1. Tried with two different computers and I have exactly the same behavior.

Hi there, no it is not JT-Alert. I think the program is just checking the the first 4 characters of the call sign to make a match

The good news is that the USB ports are good. The bad news is why is it not showing up as a com port? I have a had lot of problems with USB ports and wrong drivers but this is a new one!

Do you have that option set on 6m?
Generally not needed on the lower VHF bands unless you are into EME and the likes.

A suggestion: Go to the ICOM web site, find and download the Silicon Labs USB driver for the IC-7610's serial ports and install it. Don't use the MS driver.
