Re: Option to filter weak stations from display?
#WSJTX_config
FWIW when I first stated using Wsjt-x/FT8 I had the same opinion. I was only working strong stations. Now I have an antiquated set up but since I got a handle on my output audio it works great.

Hi Bill,
Perhaps JTAlert has even that possibility. I am not using it myself.
As such a strong reception signal may not mean that the station has a good reception. That station may use very high

Your terminology needs some clarification.
WSJT-X has a "Rig Split" mode -- do you have that turned on?
The VFOB frequency and mode will change when you transmit -- not when you change bands or

That doesn’t apply to late model Icom radios. With these radios the ALC does nothing until it reaches the threshold. The threshold is the red area of the meter. The power control does not set power

Brian,
No, the vox is the setting in WSJTX.
Signalink sends a hard PTT to the radio.

It's very rig dependent.
What rig do you have?
Here's how to understand your ALC meter's behavior.
#1 Set WJST_X Pwr slider to -3dB (half power)#2 Set rig to 50W#3 Click Tune in WSJTX -- you should

What does Icom recommend for ALC setting for that radio? FT 8 is a constant carrier/envelope signal similar to FM.
Most manufacturers now recommend ALC be set for normal. With some Icom radios there

Looks like you're getting out OK now on both hamspots.net and pskreporter.info. Did you do something to fix it that you would care to share?

Signalink is an audio interface, so as long as you have a suitable cable, it should be impossible for it to *NOT* work. Check Tigertronics to verify your hookup . . .

Thanks Dan,
I have sorted it out. I changed PTT settings to VOX and the associated
settings in the rig and I had my first QSO this morning.
Regards,
Dave.

David-
Signalink works fine with FT450, having been using it for years. I assume
you are using the proper cable.
Look at pskreporter.info to see who is hearing you or not. Also try
