I would wager that either the audio is not outputting at the level you think it is, or that the '706 is not configured to listen to the correct input . . . (I know my Yaesu's an be odd this way . .

What linux version are you running? My Courier on Ubuntu 21.04 has Bold, Bold Italic, Italic, Regular I take it the problem is fixed with another font? Mike W9MDB

How is your SignaLink wired for the IC-706? Did you get a already-built plugin or wire it youself? PTT Transmit indicates the SignaLink is getting audio. Lack of power in the rig indicates audio

I am unable to duplicate this problem on Ubuntu 21.04 I suspect you are missing a font. Do you have any messages in wsjtx_syslog.log that might mention fonts? Mike W9MDB

FYI, looking, I find the font is set to SansSerif Normal, 9 point . . . Things don't get much more generic than that . . . (Decoded text fount is Courier Bold 10). I can set anything in the font
