Does W11 give you any indication of how often it does a time sync? I believe earlier versions of Windows were by default configured to time-sync once a week, which is far too infrequent if you want

Good idea re a memorial award of some type.
An annual innovation award would be worth consideration as well. Some hams are more interested in developing new modes and techniques than in contesting.

Another option would be for one or more individuals to sponsor one or more plaques in Bill's memory in the WW-DIGI contest.
Details here: https://ww-digi.com/plaques.htm

Mind you the W11 time update also allows you to select nist.gov as a source. Not realistic for those of us in Europe.
Hi Phil,
At least time sync in W10 allowed to type in any source for time

I'd recommend the non-routable 224.0.0.1 address.
I doubt anybody needs to route their multicast data.

Hi Mike,
I'm running WSJT-x together with MacLoggerDX as well, but on Mojave. Are you by any chance using iCloud for Desktop and Documents? If so, try to disable that feature and retry.

Log broadcasting has been deprecated. N1MM can monitor the UDP traffic directly.
If you wish to use N1MM and JT Alert at the same time, setup all three program for
Multicast by changing the port

That’s what I though so I disabled the W11 time update. When W11 installed it installed a lot of other things it thought I would need. I think I’ve got rid of most of the other stuff I don’t

Meinberg should disable Windows Time Sync, shouldn't it?
You don't want more than one time sync service, as they may fight with each other.

Just installed W11. I noticed that the windows time sync was enabled. I assume I don't need it with Meinberg.

To use N1MM with WSJT to manage your logs you need to do just a very few things.
In WSJT, turn on log broadcasting under reporting. In N1MM, go to the WSJT tab in configure and enable the radio 1

Re: Why does Clicking "Tune" turn on "Call 1st?"
#WSJTX_config
#Windows10
#macOS
If I’ve forgotten to tune after changing bands and get a high SWR warning, I will hit the rig’s tune button after finishing say a CQ. This takes less than a second at 14 s in the cycle.

Potential partial answer.
Checking "Calling CQ forces Call 1st" in preferences/settings creates the behavior.
It appears the WSJT-X treats a "Tune" as a CQ.
