The dummy plug solved the issue. I can now connect/disconnect a USB mike without it changing the WSJT-x audio settings. The issue is that you never want the USB codec to be the default device, which

I just had a similar experience on 20 meter F/H. I clicked on OJ0JR to call him, and WSJTx immediately crashed. As it turned out, I got him on that first call, and luckily was able to immediately

Just had a troubling occurrence. Was calling OJ0JR (Market Reef) on 20m F/H and all was good. But when he called and moved me down to 381, things went south. The RED stripe showed up in the Band

I suggest you leave a dummy plug inserted. Then you may set it to default.

Windows is taking a shortcut too far. You have configured wsjtx to use USB Codec. Windows thinks(?) this is the default, so wsjtx wants to use the default. It remembers this even if the default

Sounds like Zoom is doing the changes, which it should not be doing. If you have another computer to use, I'd put Zoom on that one.

The default audio is the speakers and mike. Audio from the Windows system, Internet, etc. comes out the speakers. Audio to/from the radio is the USB Codec (RigExpert TI-8 interface).
