Hi Mike,
have you checked that the audio input device default sample rate is 48kHz ? Also using the same CODEC for JT65HF and WSJT-X at the same time may cause audio issues since they request

Yes...he can decode my files just fine.
Something must be weird in his audio chain with WSJT-X.

Re: Decoding problem
Mike,
I ran the fileon my WSJT-X v1.6.0-rc1, without being able to decode anything. I only saw two traces for possible decode. Have you tried it the other way? You record a sample wav and try it

WSJT-X 1.7 Dev on Mac OS-X
Has anyone done any evaluation or testing with version 1.7 Dev on OS-X? Are there any compiled versions of v1.7 dev available for testing or evaluation?

wonder if there may be a program out there that would generate and record a jt65/jt9 signal of a desired strength ?

Except waterfall width still affects the bandwidth being decoded, right?

Re: WSJT-X version wsjtx-1.6.0-rc1 Low SIgnal Decode Performance
Having the Rx gain slider at around 3/4 setting is not excessive and I doubt that change will make a significant difference. We find some users have very high or low level audio and expect the slider

Re: WSJT-X version wsjtx-1.6.0-rc1 Low SIgnal Decode Performance
Hi Bob,
a common cause of poor decode performance is not having the default sample rate for your sound devices set to 48kHz. Other than that, you must set the levels correctly since too much gain

Re: define
Not quite sure what you are referring to here. The slider to set the zero offset is bias applied to the waterfall and/or the spectrum display. The zero offset and gain are setting the offset and slope
