Ron,

Did you try stopping and restarting the NTP service in Administrator mode? Sometimes that will help. I run Meinberg and Win10 with no conflicts. I realize ymmv.

Good Luck,

Hi,

for those of you that are on a Linux system the easiest way to automagically split the logfile, e.g. every month or so is to create a "logrotate" script. Actually this could be a part of the installation of WSJT-X, I think. Anyhow this will automagically split your file into parts every month, or if you hack the scriptfile yearly, weekly or daily depending on your settings and your amount of traffic.

(logrotate is one of those nice features you get on almost all Linux systems, and that makes day to day maintenance much easier)

Hello Joe

I followed - exactly- the download/installation instructions as written.

I upgraded from JTA v2.51.2 to v2.51.4. Previously, everything worked
flawlessly without anything causing me to wonder "what's going on here".

Now, however, there are too many puzzling thing happening:

- Delays where the logging window hangs-up (little circle going round-n-round
in middle of display window) for 10's-of-seconds
- At start-up sometimes WSJT-X is not communicating with JTAlert for minutes
and finally the two apps begin working together
- During the logging "hang-up" it looks like the system transitions to transmit
with no output power indicated

Everything "seems" to be set up correctly because the two programs DO work
MOST of the time. I performed way too many "push-ups" after installing the new
JTA v2.51.4 SW thinking I had something wrong with the UDP-stuff only to find
WSJT-x and JTA finally began communicating during the time-period I stopped
trying to "fix" the setup and was writing the initial note to the group.asking for
assistance.

During the note writing period I looked back at the JTA "header-line" to get some
additional info and discovered the two SW were communicating. Weird behavior
(on the part of the SW!)

IF this problem continues, I will go back to the earlier version of JTA and enjoy
flawless operation - no hang-ups / bogging-down.

Additional information

While finishing the last FT8 QSO :

- My system was sending the "73" message
- WSJT-x popped-up the logging window and I entered the
TX power and hit 'enter'
- QSO was sent to LOTW and that finished OK
- My "73" TX message completed
- The WSJT-x window display stalled and the "round-circle
waiting symbol" continued circling
- The WSJT-X program main window stalled/froze with the "Green elapsed
time display" frozen at ~8-seconds
- After greater-than-a-minute, the WSJT-X logging window closed
and WSJT-x main program started working again

The next QSO, using the same sequence of logging as above,
logged and closed fast and as expected.

Again,, my system is setup as follows:
- Dell E6510 Laptop running Win-7 64-bit OS
- WSJT-x v2.5.4
- JTAlert v2.51.4
- THETIS v2.8.11
- ANAN-7000dle
- Voicemeeter Banana

Agreed Willie. I even notice how Windows 11 will temporarily recognize
WJST receiver audio but then disconnects it quickly. I can see evidence of
tones on the waterfall, but they stop averaging and go away.
I traced this activity directly to needing to disable external audio
processes for the USB port used in Windows 11. I have to do it for every
USB port used.
This was critical for me on this mainstream Windows 11 computer.

Testing in Rig Split and Fake It would be appreciated.Successes/Failures please report.
New hamlib for installation directions
#1 Shut down WSJTX/JTDX
#2 Download either the 32-bit or 64-bit DLL matching the 32/64-bit version of WSJTX/JTDX -- hopefully your browser doesn't block it but may warn you multiple times.
If you can do a "Save As" you can save it directly in \WSJT\WSJTX\bin and replace the libhamlib-4.dll that is there.
http://n0nb.users.sourceforge.net/dll32/libhamlib-4.dll
http://n0nb.users.sourceforge.net/dll64/libhamlib-4.dll
Linux/Unix/Mac users need to compile the latest tar file from http://n0nb.users.sourceforge.net/
#3 If you don't save directly you need to open a file browser and move the file that way.
If you're not familiar with that here's a video on the file browser - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyVqCJrs9dk

The program that I wrote (and is free) AllText.exe can process any size All.Txt file.It does not load the file into memory. Given the callsigns and the date of the qsoin question it will find the records in less than 0.5 seconds regardless of the sizeof the file. The program can be run even while wsjt-x is actively adding recordsto the all.txt file.

Hi all,

I use callsign DO/KI5UKQ because I'm a US General Class licensee who started operating in Germany yesterday - I hear that 90 day clock to get my German license ticking! 'DL' is in the list for visitors to Germany, but as I'm a Novice visitor under CEPT rules, I have to use 'DO', which is not in the list.

I get plenty of spots in WSPR mode, but nothing in FT8. When I briefly dropped the DO/ completely, which I won't do again, because I'm obligated to have it in my callsign here, I started getting responses.

I'll be happy to test the addition, understanding that it probably won't work very well until a lot of users have updated their clients.
