You could check for RF issues by turning the transmitter power down to zero and/or using a dummy load, so that everything is identical except the RF power.

If you have a SignaLink have you set it to 0dB ins sound control panel for both playback and record?

I happen to have a DR80 on the way and I can compare when I get it.

That is RF in the shack.  Only happens when you transmit.

The CAT PTT test does not generate any power so that's why it works.

#1 Type 31 Chokes on the USB cable (both ends)
https://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-Hi-Speed-Ferrite-U023-006/dp/B003MQ29B2/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1DVFTSWS955TD&keywords=tripp%2Blite%2Busb%2Bcable&qid=1639864912&sprefix=tripp%2Blite%2Busb%2Bcable%2Caps%2C83&sr=8-3&th=1

#2 If no chokes try moving the USB cable to another port (front instead of back or other side of laptop)

Then please describe your grounding system.  Too many people have the "rod in the ground" outside  their shack that is not bonded to the house main.

I have rebooted the pc, power cycled the radio, checked the USB cable.  The issue I am having is WSJT can decode fine, but when I try to reply, call CQ or just hit the tune button I get the above error.  If I test the PTT using the CAT controls it’s okay, it seems to be some kind of weird audio issue.  When this error occurs, the radio keys up, and for less than half a second I hear a quick audio tone, then the radio unkeys and I get the above error.

Radio is a FTDX10.  This was working fine this morning and now all of a sudden it’s not.  Ideas anyone?

Years ago I did use JT9 a lot. It was better then JT65 but less popular.
In time FT8 became very popular and did replace all other modes.
What do you mean by JT9G(Fast)? Why?
Auto Sequencing came much later. I was not aware that it does not work with JT9.
What is the motivation behind your interest in using JT9? Do you suggest to use few modes on the same frequency such as 50.303 Mhz?

I do MSK144 meteor scatter on 6m and 2m and have always been interested in trying it on 10/12/15, mainly due to N0AN's past posts on the subject.

This morning, I tried using JT9G(fast) with a friend 6 miles away using low power on 28.145. I am using WSJT-X 2.5.2 and he was using 2.5.3. We both observed this:

1. QSO's are manually invoked by double clicking an incoming message - (No "Call 1st" function). OK, I can live with that. That's how WSJT-X handled the old modes, like JT-65.
2. Auto Sequence doesn't. Each message (TX2, TX3, TX4...) must be manually selected to make the QSO progress.
3. With decent S/N ratio, the incoming signal is not decoded every time (I could copy him at 500mW, then not get a decode when he went up to 5W or 10W).

Auto Sequence is the biggest issue, but not sure I trust the decoder at this point. Or maybe I need to change a radio setting somewhere.

Would like to hear from others who have used this mode... Thanks.

I am very interested in this, because I have a 16" MacBook Pro, on order. Try all the stuff that appears in the drop down box. One of them should work. If not go look for a different driver. Curiosity question: what are you using your Mac for, with the FTDX-10? I have a FTDX101, which is the same instruction set.

New hamlib for Windows installation directions

#1 Shut down WSJTX

#2 Download either the 32-bit or 64-bit DLL -- hopefully your browser doesn't block it but may warn you multiple times.

If you can do a "Save As" you can save it directly in \WSJT\WSJTX\bin and replace the libhamlib-4.dll that is there.

Hi Dave,

Perhaps this extract from User Guide explains a bit:

7.3. Auto-Sequencing
The T/R cycles of many WSJT-X modes allow only a few seconds to inspect decoded messages and decide how to reply. Often this is not enough time, so for FST4, FT4, FT8, MSK144, and Q65 the program offers a basic auto-sequencing feature.

If i change the Max drift to anything other than zero I am unable to decode multiple stations and must have the RX cursor on the station to be decoded. I apologize for making such an error. F Tol should not be set to zero. I keep mine at 20 Hz, and use the cursor on the Wide
