Well it looks like I am transmitting CQ but there is no band activity showing. I’m on 7074.0 Digital with power 5 watts and antenna at 1.0 SWR.

Should I be receiving something or is it just slow on the band. I’m in Queens, NY. Thanks again for your help.

However I plugged in a spare USB module and got same error. Even further .......... I purchased a new USB sound device.... and cables.... got same error. Remember....... I set RIG to NONE and the decode of sample files works. It is only when I click MONITOR button that I get the error. My first indication of trouble.......ALL OF A SUDDEN one day the green level bar showed no signal. I've been using wsjt-x for years with same hardware.

Hi Mark,
so no CAT interface, set
"Preferences->Radio->Rig->None" and
"Preferences->Radio->PTT Method->VOX". You will need to
enable VOX on your rig if it has that capability, or if it
supports a CAT then a suitable interface cable will be needed.

For that to work you must have some connection between your rig and Mac, but you don't tell us anything about that, or indeed what rig you have. Not So New Subject I suspect - WSJT-X v2.4.0 Will not transmit
#Cat_RigControl

Hello
I tried to locate in the archives the following problem: 1 - Earlier version of WSJT-X v2.4.7 worked with HPSDR mRX PS v3.4.7 controlling ANAN-200D 2 - Downloaded WSJT-X v2.4.0 to access FST4-W program 3 - Looks like things are working - GREEN DOT displayed and decodes of other users OK 4 - clicked on "TUNE" and GREEN DOT turns ORANGE ("TUNE" remained clear/uncolored ) 5- Clicked "TUNE" again and GREEN DOT turns RED and error message appears "RIG CONTROL ERROR" 6- Accessing from WSJT-X in FT8 Mode File>Settings>radio> clicked on "TEST CAT" turns to GREEN So it appears CAT stuff is working fine. Seems like "No good intention goes unpunished!" Any assistance will be appreciated Dick/w7wkr

Are you operating in Split mode? Is VFOB not changing on band change? If so, try Fake It Mike W9MDB

Re: no tx audio after successful tune

I see this from time to time - I haven’t worked out what is causing it, so it is just random as far as I can tell. Sometimes halting the TX and then enabling it works, but sometimes I have to close down WSJT-X and reopen it. If you open Soinds in Win10 then you will see that the output is going to another codec.
The odd thing is that the Tune button always works… -- Steve M0NMA

I would make LCUT as low as possible (100Hz). I assume HCUT of 3000 shows a decent bandpass curve? You can see your bandpass by turning off "Flatten" and going to a quiet spot (like 4kHz down). Set "Start 0Hz" and widen your waterfall so you can see the right-hand side of your bandpass. You then adjust the waterfall to be inside the bandpass just a bit as Flatten does not like to see the edges of the bandpass. You can see the effect here at 13:51:45 to 13:52:30 where I adjusted the bandpass to be narrower than the waterfall and you get the lower and upper "noise" from the Flatten algorithm. Turning Flatten off and seeing Start 0Hz you see your bandwidth something like this. So you then adjust Start to get into the bandpass and the Bins/Pixel and window width to get the right side into your bandpass. Mike W9MDB

I use an ICOM 7300 - have had the same problem with CODEC Speaker audio being re-routed to almost anything that Windows has for Speaker Audio! While using Win8.1- once that happened I had no way of 'fixing' it. I had set up my Bluetooth hearing aids - the CODEC Speaker audio went there! (With the ensuing very loud audio meant to drive the TX!)
I've read somewhere that the CODEC audio should never be set as 'Default.' Have not confirmed that - but it is what happened with Win8.1 - and I could not change it.

Bill,
No, I'm not sure that DATA MODE: PSK is correct, so thank you for pointing that out. I was simply mimicking the setup of KB9VBR (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoYL-7N6eb4&t=4s) which worked fine - until the firmware update. I will try changing DATA MODE to OTHERS and see what the results are. 73, Greg N6SE
