One enhancement that might help in this situation is to build a call queue that allows multiple callers to be stacked and worked either sequentially or from a pick list by the operator. The progress of each contact could be maintained so that in QSB or scatter situations, contacts could “interleave” a little bit to improve rate.  Rare grid rovers, expeditions, and other popular stations could benefit.

Paul,

you need to set up the audio input and output for WSJT-X in "Settings->Audio". If you are on Windows 10 then you may need to allow WSJT-X to use microphone devices in teh Camera and Microphone Privacy settings of Windows.

Yes, on W9MDB's recommendation I tried V. 2.5.0 and it fixed the problem. "Split Operation | Rig" works fine on K4 now. Thanks!

Well, the solution by Reino is more elegant.. you won't loose the qso, but only restore the grid as unworked.

Hi,

There are two more sensible or logical solutions as well.

If the actual grid is known, replace the current by it, otherwise change gridsquare length to “0” and delete the current one.
In Both solutions the grid is “not worked” on the WSJT-X point of view. Well, a Rescan or WSJT-X closing and opening is needed to update PC knowledge.

Bill,

I tried that previously, but because of the use I make of these fields in the status UDP, I want them cleared after logging. I use them to display current contact location in DxAtlas. I'll try and see if I can log then start the new contact. failing that, log as soon as I send the RR73 as Jim K9YC's suggestion.

Just an observation for same reason the current release notes no more state the removal. JT9 is mentioned last time in V2.3.0.

Two possible work-arounds:

1. In the WSJT-X settings, set Mode to None so WSJT-X won't try to change the rig's mode.

2. In the WSJT-X settings, for Split Operation use Fake It instead of Rig, so WSJT-X won't try to use VFO B.

Hi Dana,

That there is zero need to sign /7, or /P, or /M, or /R because sending our grid provides far better information about where callers should point their beam. Such designations are not illegal, but not required, and except for certain contests that may require them for scoring purposes, there's rarely a good reason to use them.

I'm old enough to remember the FCC changing the regs so that such designators were not required.

Apologies if this is a dumb question, something I've never figured out.

When I operate portable on FT8 with WSJT-X I'd like to set my call appropriately - K6NR/7.  When I do this the CQ string omits the grid square; IE CQ K6NR/7 rather than CQ K6NR/7 DM35.  However I see other stations operating portable and they do send their grid in the CQ.

What am I missing?

No issues with my K3 using V2.4 Steve.

Only error I sometimes have has been constant over many versions. If I have used the K3 on CW on a band before I select that band via WSJT I might have an offset equivalent to my chosen CW pitch. So I might see 10.136.70 instead of 10.136.00 for example. Reselecting the band clears it but I don't always notice it immediately.
