What rig you do have, does it have a rig to computer capability?   Knowing what you're using for a radio would help.

How are you connecting audio to the computer from the rig?    HRD only matters if you're using it for rig control/CAT nothing to do with audio.

Check your clock.  It has to be pretty accurate.    If it get to be near a second out or greater, you won't decode.

You can get a good idea of how accurate your clock is at this site --> https://time.is/

Hi Steve,

Non-linear amplifier is fine in principle. Only requirement is that it can deal with the smooth amplitude change during power-up and power-down phases or those are prevented by an extra configuration setting. Unfortunately I don’t remember what it is, an additional configuration file. There was discussion on that issue during 2.4.0 release candidates.

I am working now towards the following solution:

10+10 element Cross H/V 2m Yagi

Dual 2m Transverter

Flex 6600/SmartSDR

2 instances of WSJT-X with Q65/FT8/JT65. One for the H channel and one for the V channel, waiting for the EME signal to be detected on one or both.

Waiting for adaptive polarization be ready for this configuration in due time.

In the mean time please consider using the IQ  streams delivered by Flex Radio and many other SDR radios as an input to WSJT-X Q65. This is half way to your MAP65 requierment and does contain more “Flash” than the common data stream.

You should certainly follow your desire to become EME capable.  I strongly recommend that in this pursuit you start with something you know how to achieve.  You can then move on to a more ambitious and more capable setup.

Circular polarization on 2m is not a good idea, and you should learn why it is not.  Having both linear polarizations available at the flip of a switch is helpful.  Use WSJT-X first; a properly configured MAP65 setup is much more complicated and requires understanding you will gain in time, with some diligence.  No, circular polarization is not the same as adaptive polarization.  And No, two separate I/Q data streams is not the same as properly synchronized 4-channel data suitable for MAP65.

Dear WSJT-X and MAP65 Users,

We are pleased to announce that a public Release Candidate WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc1 is ready for download by beta testers.

WSJT-X in this release is nearly identical to that in WSJT-X 2.4.0.  The Q65 decoder has been enhanced to measure and compensate for linear frequency drift in Q65 signals.  In addition, the Windows installation package now includes version 3.0 of program MAP65.

Potential interests of users in this release candidate can be sorted into three main categories:

1. If you are currently using MAP65 for EME, we strongly recommend installing WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc1.  On the Windows platform this action automatically installs MAP65 3.0.0-rc1 as well.  MAP65 3.0 is a major upgrade that incorporates the Q65 mode, complete with support for LiveCQ and other features enjoyed by MAP65 users for many years.

2. If you are currently using an earlier version of WSJT or WSJT-X for EME, or using the Q65 protocol for any purpose, WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc1 offers a faster and more robust decoder for Q65.  If you are using JT65 or JT4 for EME on any band, we recommend switching to the Q65 mode and encouraging others to do so using WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc1.

3. If you are not currently interested in Q65, EME, or MAP65, there is little reason for you to try WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc1.  For your present purposes WSJT-X 2.4.0 is just as good.

Please note that MAP65 is installed automatically only on the Windows platform.  Please let us know if using MAP65 in Linux or macOS would be important for you.

I've done it before. If memory serves me correctly, I either went from WSJT to GridTracker, and had GridTracker relay to N1MM for logging or utilized the secondary UDP server port for GridTracker and hooked up N1MM direct to WSJT.

It's doable.

Hi Arther,

unless N1MM supports multicast IP when serving data from WSJT-X you will
not be able to interoperate with those applications with some sort
lash-up relaying UDP traffic to N1MM (and that will be one-way only).
