All works great in general, but I noticed today that if I call CQ with the band set to 20 and the frequency to 14.047.000 , when wsjt-x transmits, the frequency changes on the wsjt-x display to  14.072.000. HRD and the radio still show the correct 14.074.000.

locked T/R 30s seems to be a default now in -RC4 #MSK144 #Q65

I switch modes on 6m and 2m quite a few times.

Lately I notice that, all too often, I am calling CQ on MSK144 but with 30s T/R time.

Sometimes I remember to check. But this morning right after I turned the rig on and selected MSDK144 on -RC4, I began calling CQ on MSK144.

About 3 minutes later I realized I was again in a 30s T/R series.

Can't we have Q65 default to 30s and MSK144 always default to 15s when we touch the mode choice?

All this only began after the introduction of Q65 choices. Well, at least in my cob-webby brain anyway.

'Defaults' are great. Use defaults for all the modes.

Hi David,

Can you paste the copied call sign to notepad or any other text editor? I could not copy from dxsummit call signs as those are links not text. Selecting any text part on the page worked ok.

Paste (as in copy-and-paste) does not work for me in the DX call window.
Should it?
From a DX cluster program, I sometimes copy a call sign to the clipboard but I cannot paste it into the DX call field.

Read the section on Auto Sequencing, and then find the keyboard shortcut list by pressing F3. I think ALT+R changes Tx4 to RR73.

Hi Franco,
I confirm your report. I use 2.3.1 and FT-817 controlled directly from WSJT-X without any intermediate application.
The "Rig" option does not work either. CAT test passes and the S symbol is in green circle.

Um ... Tx3 has always been the  "callsign mycallsign R-xx" message.  Tx4 now defaults to RR73, which can be changed by double clicking on the Tx4 button.

There are Fortran to C converters, however I am not sure whether they support the Fortran version WSJT-X is implemented with.

f2c - Wikipedia
FORTRAN to C Converter - Automatic Fortran to C conversion (quickreckoning.com)

Fortran compiler is not part of the official Android NDK, but it seems as if the NDK could be compiled relatively easily to include gfortran.

buffer51/android-gfortran: Android NDK toolchains with Fortran support (github.com)
Danilo's Tech Blog: How to build the gcc Fortran cross-compiler for Android (ARM and x86) (danilogiulianelli.blogspot.com)

Interestingly enough, modern browsers support WebAssembly WebAssembly. One may compile a C/C++ code into Web Assembly bytecode, which is then translated to native code by your browser and ran at the speed close to native. Web browsers support audio input / output, so it is technically feasible to recompile WSJT-X to run in the browser, although it would require quite a significant effort.

Strange things are happening.
Yesterday I tried another configuration of CAT/rig control with HRD first connecting physically to the TS-950SDX transceiver. WSJT-X and HDSR are talking with HRD.
It worked, a little slow with some delay in the apps updating QRG etc, but it worked.

Today I switched the WSJT-X configuration back to OmniRig - and what shall I say: It worked!
Unfortunately I don't know why. There was no change in the PC configuration, no updates or new apps have been installed.

That's nice, but in the end not very satisfying. Because if I don't know the reason why it happened, I don't know how how to prevent it from failing again.

Will post updates if there are new findings.

Thank you for your help and suggestions.

Hi Jerry,

you need to copy your log files, wsjtx_log.adi and wsjtx.log. The ALL.TXT file is also handy to keep as a record. if you use WSPR then WSPR_ALL.TXT may be useful.

If you are keeping any saved .WAV files then copying your saved .WAV files directory and contents should be considered.

Your settings are in the file WSJT-X.ini, you don't say what platform you are using, the locations are documented in the WSJT-X User Guide https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx-doc/wsjtx-main-2.3.1.html#_file_locations . Note that moving the settings to another system will require a couple of minor changes to saved file paths, both are on the "Settings->Audio" panel, adjust them to suitable locations if your user name has changed, or if you have switched to a different platform.

Do not copy across any file with "wisdom" in it's name, they are specific to your CPU and will be recreated automatically when you first start WSJT-X on a new machine.

Hi Jerry,

·         You may mean by PC Windows os, then Settings: %LOCALAPPDATA%\WSJT-X\WSJT-X.ini

·         Log directory: %LOCALAPPDATA%\WSJT-X\

where wsjtx_log.adi is for your “worked before” knowledge and perhaps wsjtx.log for a simple reminder of the same info.

You may go to that directory also via File – Open log directory.

Hi Mark,

I can confirm it. I use FT-817 also and version 2.3.1. I control my FT-817 directly from WSJT-X without any intermediate app. I found Split "Fake It" does not work (it was already reported) and
I tried to switch to "Rig". Regardless the band VFOa is switched to, VFOb stays on 7 MHz. CAT test passes OK and the circle around S is in green. So, I guess there is a bug related to Split in 2.3.1.

The Kenwood TS2000 is there for Linux users.   It's between the 140S and 440S.   Both on version 2.3.1 and 2.4.0-RC4.    It is recommended that you build WSJT-X from source on the Linux platform.  Remember whenever you are installing from a pre-built package (even "official" repositories), it's someone else's work.   Who knows what they did or didn't do to it.   The instructions are simple and strait forward to perform the source build.
