A well matched antenna is a must. Unless you are dealing with a minor mismatch, you will lose too much power with a tuner. Even if you are running an amp as I do, You will also lose received signal strength. I use an amp with my 991A and 817ND running FT8 and other digital modes to relieve the stress on my finals. I would rather replace an amp with blown finals than my main rig.I would suggest you use an SWR meter just to be safe.

Instead of deleting the WSJTX_log.adi file, which ruins the program's ability to identify countries, grid squares and call signs that you have worked before, you can use a text editor to copy the QSOs made since your last export  form the wsjtx_log.adi file into a new empty file and import that new file into your logging program.

I've been doing that from day one. I don't know any other way to achieve it.

Suggestion is to revert to 2.2.1

the newer version apparently has a 1ppm TCXO for better stability

the ones on ebay are the older model with the less stable std crystal oscillator

i do mainly ft8 / ft4

my rig is on 24/7 when i am not operating i leave it on wspr or sstv monitoring

i have looked around and i can't see and dual band 2/70 rigs that do ssb they are all FM only

hence the interest in a transvertor

Hi Peter,

WSJT-X supports transverters, particularly if you IF rig has working CAT control. Set the offset field in the "Settings->Frequencies->Station  Info" table for the target band. The offset is in MHz and is the offset required to give the IF frequency on Rx. So for a 2m transverter with a 28 MHz IF rig you would enter -116.0 MHz.

Not only that, but I 'misspoke' regarding "RC2" working flawlessly.

I just got a chance to look at the "Band Hopping" decodes of RC2.
All I see from 0300Z is repeated 80m decodes despite a schedule saying
Daytime is 30m and up. ... it's 2000Z as I reply here. So RC2, at least,
isn't causing the crashes. She just isn't switching bands.
Anyone else confirm this please?

So I guess if I "really" want WSPR, which I do, that as Mr. Bill
suggested, one needs to find 2.2.1 and re-install it.

Which I shall.

Hi Bob,

the band hopping schedule is correct, if a band from the globally coordinated schedule is not enabled then another band that is allowed to Tx is randomly chosen for that slot. What are you grey-line band selections and what do you have set for the grey-line time?

locked Re: WSJT-X Error Message Received When Attempting to Log FT Roundup QSO: Invalid QSO Data -- Check Exchange Sent and Received

Geza Szabados-Hann

It  happens if a stations sends you a R-REPORT acknowledging a report you already sent to another station.

Example:
You call station A with nr-1, but station-A answers station-B.
Now you call station C with nr-1, you comlete and log the QSO.
Later on, station A call you with R-Report.  Now, WSJT-X does not know which number is acknowledged.  Station A thinks it would be Nr-1, but it is already logged for station C.
The problem is, that the QSO-is lost, while WSJTX-send RR73 which causes station C to log the qso with the incorrect nr. 1. Even if you correct the number it will be a NIL.

The solution I used:  I clicked on the received R-Reoport. WSJTX-generates RR73 automatically. I tried to overwrite this to a simple report. Now A replies with R-Report. which will be accepted.  Another possibility: Short disabling /enabling transmission results that  WSJT-X looses the reference between report and R-report.

Geza Szabados-Hann

Hi,
The attached image shows what happens:
I (DG5LP) called NJ4P with my serial-nr. 173, but he returned to KE8ZNL.
Then I called TA7YOG using the same serial-Nr. 173 and could compete the QSO. Thus the Nr.173 was logged.

Later on NJ4P, returned to me "with R 539 TN" but the "R" was relating to the serial-nr. 173, which was already logged.
Unfortunately, as I  klicked to the "R-REP" from NJ4P, WSJTX sent a RR73, but did not logged the QSO.  NJ4P received the "RR73" message, so the QSO was logged there. Then I tried to log QSO, but WSJT-X opened the log widow and asked to enter the correct RX/TX numbers. There was no easy way out, I lost the QSO and multipiier.
The ony solution is, to stop transmission, klick to the received "R" messge from NJ4P and select "Send Report" as fast as possible. Then NJ4P  receceives a new call with the next serial number and will confirm it with a new R-Report. Better would be, if WSJT-X woud do it automatically ins such situations.

WSJT-X crahsed several times during the contest. I could not find any reason for it. After restart, the serial number was set by hunderts backwards.
This behaviour and the missing automatic RR73 repeatas explains me the high ratio of NILs during the contest.

73,
Geza

Have you turned off all Power Saving for USB hubs?   You'll have to do that in the Device Manager by selecting each USB hub, finding the Power tab (if it has one) and uncheck the 'allow system to turn off' (or similar) box.

It could also be a problem with RFi hitting the cable.  Does it happen on certain bands?
