2. Mode=FST4 Single Decode
3. Frequency=1839.00 KHz
4. Tx=Rx=1500 Hz
5. F Tol=100 Hz

Mattia,  This is a common error message about the ADIF log file.
Locate the ADIF log file and do this,
Find the first line where it says:

WSJT-X ADIF Export<eh>

change it to:

WSJT-X ADIF Export<eoh>

Save the file, restart WSJT-X, and you should be good.

This is from a posting on the WSJT-X group.

Right in the example below, he sent RRR and when I sent 73, the logging box popped up and I clicked ok and rearmed enable Tx. My point is that previously the program would resend 73 not CQ.

Hi Mattia,

thanks for reporting the issue. It is a known issue with WSJT-X v2.2.2 which writes an invalid ADIF header when it first creates its own ADIF log file. You can fix the header by editing the ADIF log file using Notepad.exe. The log file is in the WSJT-X log files directory ("Menu->File->Open log directory") and is called wsjtx_log.adi (alternatively accessed as "%LocalAppData%\WSJT-X\wsjtx_log.adi"). The header line contains <eh> which should be changed to <eoh>

Hi,

Check the WSJTX-Log.adi file.

the first line should look like this : WSJT-X ADIF Export <eoh>

There was a bug that left out the <eoh> in the first line.

That should fix it.

locked Re: v.2.3.0-rc2 sequencing not correct #IssueReport

Sequencing errors are easily induced in v2.2.2 od9b96 as follows:
While in a QSO with contact one, double-click in the left window on another contact then immediately double-click on the last received transmission from contact 1 in the right window.

If this action is taken following a received RR73, a 73 should be sent but isn't.
Instead, an RR73 is sent.

If this action is taken following a received initial signal report, the correct R+ signal report is next sent but then does not advance to the 73 message after receiving an RR73 and instead remains stuck sending another R+ signal report.

locked Intermittent choppy TX audio on macOS Big Sur (11.0.1)

Ross Wardrup

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with choppy audio on TX using WSJT-X 2.2.2 (build 0d9b96) on macOS Big Sur (11.0.1). The issue is intermittent and typically happens once every half hour or so. Sometimes, it'll occur on multiple transmission cycles in a row.

This is on a fresh install of the OS with no additional kernel extensions installed. Using the built-in USB audio device support to drive my IC-7300.

I've captured an error message in the console: HALC_ProxyIOContext::IOWorkLoop: skipping cycle due to overload.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

FWIW, the FC-757 manual indicates receive-only tuning is an optional mode that can only be performed manually.

sorry for the delay on this,  it involved quite a lot of testing. Attached is an updated patch file that should allow your build on Debian 9 to complete.

Yes it did! All of my audio devices and drivers were gone except for my desktop speakers and they were disabled.

Got all restored but now when there is a transition from receive to transmit or vice versa, I get "Error in opening input device"
Followed by "Rig Control Error - Do you want to reconfigure the radio interface. Hamlib error: IO error while opening connection to rig"

These are new to me, where do I go now?

Hi Reino,

I had to tell Norton to skip that file. It is in one of the settings.
As I mentioned in my earlier email, Norton in its screwed up heuristics
decided that it contains a malware. Initially It deleted it as soon as I compiled it.

Even if I zipped it, as soon as you extracted it , it would delete it.

Reino,

Some programs look into many types of files and compression utilities.

Is it not possible to turn off Norton?

Hi,

I assume that this is intended behavior as you logged the QSO after sending 73 without waiting a 73 from your partner who sent RRR not RR73.

So wsjt-x assumes that you completed the call as you logged it. It seems that you have ‘Clear DX call and grid after logging’ activated. If you don’t activate it, then you could just click on Now Tx5 to repeat 73.

When conducting a QSO, my partner will send R-xx to which i reply RR73...I rearm the enable TX button...My partner did not receive my RR73 and resends R-xx...Instead of replying back to my partner with another RR73, RC2 goes into CQ TX6...In previous versions if the RR73 was not received, as long as the enable tx button was armed, it would resend RR73...Under under RC2, it is now necessary to click on the partner's R-xx to resend my RR73. Is this the intended behavior?

FT8 example today:

CQ VE3XET EN58

VE3XET KO3F DM12

KO3F VE3XET -08

VE3XET KO3F R -10

KO3F VE3XET RRR

VE3XET KO3F 73 At this point I've logged the QSO, DX call and grid boxes have cleared and I've rearmed Enable TX, but VE3XET did not hear my 73

KO3F VE3XET RRR Here RC2 transmits CQ KO3F DM12 instead of VE3XET KO3F 73 as it has in previous versions.

Clear DX call and grid after logging is checked. Running on Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7

Let me know if you need more info Gary KO3F

Bill-  Thanks for the response-  I don't think that is the point.

WSPR is RX only on any band that is selected (licensed authorization not
considered.)  It can run just fine w/o any TX ever if wanted, but one or
more bands must be selected.

The set up is to select the bands wanted -  for what times of day,
etc.
If a band is not checked it is not included in the scan sequence ever.
Any band selected may be muted (skipped) at times based on the local
time of day.  So sometimes a band is skipped in the sequence based on
the sun.

If ENABLE TX  is set - WSPR will TX on all bands selected - in a
sequence based on the percentage of TX selected - i.e, not every band is
on TX every cycle, just RX.

When TUNE BOX is selected for a band the radio should transmit a short
2-3 seconds TUNE carrier to initiate tuning by an automatic tuner when
that band is the band for the sequence  -TX or RX!.  (If autotuning is
needed for a TX sequence it is obviously needed if only RX on that band
in the sequence.)  The catch is that if a TX cycle is needed the antenna
tuner will tune the antenna during the first few seconds of the TX and
little is lost in a two-minute TX. (However, I think the system is set
up for the short TUNE followed by the full TX even when that band is the
band for the sequence.

But if a band sequence is started on a band that is not auto-selected
for TX during that sequence few decodes will be made as the antenna has
not been tuned.

This leads to the likelihood that in a completely RX only WSPER set up
with an antenna that needs tuning on each band - few decodes will ever
be made!

So back to my concern that in my case I need that autotuner tweaked any
time there is a band change during WSPR operation.

Hope more can read my request and help will a solution.

PS:  If I had a balanced all-band antenna this would not be a problem.
That is far from the case here in my HOA-governed 18-unit Townhome
neighborhood!  That said, my  57-ft end-fed wire under the roof
overhang
at 28 ft agl fed with remote autotuner has been heard in Antarctica and
Europe. ( WSJT-x is fantastic!)

Thanks, again
