Hi Jim,

F4 and ESC are not quite the same, ESC abandons the current QSO as well.

Why do you need a button? I ask because simply double-clicking a decoded standard message will set up for a new QSO partner. What is gained by blanking out the old messages? Note also the "Settings->Reporting->Clear DX call and grid after logging" also clears the DX Call, Grid, and generated messages when you press the OK button to log a QSO.

Curious if anyone else is having this problem, receive locking up on the latest version of WSJT-X.  I am running it on a new Windows 10 Dell.  No other programs on the machine.  There is no rhyme or reason as to when this happens.  It will receive for hours and then it will receive for only minutes.  I have to close the program and open again.  It is becoming incredibly annoying and now starting to interfere with normal ops here.  Getting worse, not better.

Could it be the result of "Windows 10 Breaking Computers" as described in yesterday's news stories?

I am having a problem with v2.2.2 crashing in "hound" mode.  When I double-click on the DX call in the Band Activity window the entire app shuts down - it just closes up with no warnings or errors.

If I enter the DX in the "DX Call" field manually and then select "Enable Tx" the program seems to run normally.  I tried changing the Decode setting from Deep to Normal and that did not change the behavior.

I've had this happen on both 17m and 40m.  In both cases Z66DX was one of the DX stations involved.  I do not have the F/H frequency in my pick list - I just enable Hound mode then manually tune the VFO to the correct frequency.  I am running "fake it".  Rig is a IC-7610 and I am using DX Commander for rig control.  Running Windows 10 64-bit with the latest updates.

Thoughts?  Suggestions?

Hi Steve,

if this was when double-clicking a message like:

RR73 G4WJS; K9AN <K1JT> -10

then this is a known defect which is fixed for the next release. To work around this either double-click a Fox reply message to a single station, a Fox CQ call, or enter the Fox call manually into the "DX Call" filed and press the "Generate Std Msgs" button to prepare for a QSO with the Fox station.

Hello Steve,

I have experienced the same here.

If you click on the received text when the counter station (in this caseZ66DX) is giving a report to another single station then there is no problem.

Like "PA3DJY - Z66DX -14" on a separate line and without brackets.

It is only happening when you are clicking on a line were the hound station gives several stations a report in one line and calls are enclosed by brackets.

What i do is just wait unitill those separate lines appear.

Although this phenomenon (clicking on call with brackets) did not occur in earlier versions of wsjt-x.

73's and stay safe.

Hi

The subject line mentions WSJT-Z this is one of the clones - you are better asking in the appropriate forum - the ‘Z’ version allows full robot operation and has been altered quite a bit.

O have noticed 2.2.2 also fails to autosequence messages. I either rx or tx a properly formatted message and the sequence hangs. I’ll be sure to watch out for the even/1st setting. That would be a bigger issue :)

Would someone post the settings for the IC-705 and WSJTX running on RaspberryPi?

Thanks.

Hi John,

if you are not running Windows 10 it is easy, just uninstall the ones you don't need or have upgraded from. With Windows 10 you may have to uninstall all of them then re-install the one you want.

Diane,

Have you tried WSJT-X Mode = Data/Pkt ? That may affect also to Radio menu setting 072 (and 062?). I don’t have FT-991 at hand to check those.
I would also set Split Ops = Fake It, but that is a different issue affecting to transmitter spectrum.

Chuck, I see the same issue with my 7300 on a 2.9 GHz, 6-core i9, 32GB RAM (running OSX 10.15.7). Basically, it'll key the radio, but not output audio. Typically, halting and re-enabling TX will correct it immediately, as you observe. As an experiment, I'm comparing the behavior with that of the most recent beta of JTDX, and I see the same thing there as well. Bottom line, the machine I'm running this on is not constrained at all, so I'm dubious that it's a resource bottleneck.
